RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. To ensure quality work
2. Keep a safe, clean, and organized job site
3. Wear all safety gear as required
4. Paint, drywall, board, tape, and minor repairs
5. Ability to choose the right paint or finish for the surface to be covered, considering durability, ease of handling, method of application and the customer’s wishes
6. Prepare surfaces to be covered so paint will adhere properly, requiring the removal of the old coat by stripping, sanding, or wire brushing
7. Wash walls and trim to remove dirt and grease, fill nail holes and cracks, sandpaper rough spots and brush off dust
8. Measure and cut drywall pieces around obstacles; glue, nail, or screw the wallboard panels to the wood or metal framework as required; tape, fill joints and imperfections with joint compound; sand treated areas where needed after each compound coat to smooth
9. Be available for rotational on-call shifts, providing after-hours emergency services labour when required
10. Work or be available to work out of town when applicable
11. Train new staff
12. Keep vehicles clean, organized and inform management of any replacement of items or vehicle repairs required
13. Responsible for ensuring all documentation associated with assigned tasks is filled out accurately, completely and turned in for proper invoicing
14. Phone clients on arrival times and keep them aware of projected job timelines, (refrain from discussing claim coverage or items not related to your trade with the customer)
15. Keep Project Manager informed on job production, timelines, and client concerns
16. Clean and neat attirePHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The Drywaller/Painter must have the ability and endurance to perform physically demanding work, requiring considerable standing, bending, lifting, and reaching overhead.INCENTIVES/PERKS:

Our company specializes in property restorations. We work with insurers and loss-adjusting firms to restore flood and fire damaged properties back to original condition. Our employees are dedicated claims handlers and restoration technicians who collectively strive to reduce the insurance claim life cycle and support business and homeowners during this stressful period.QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
• 1 – 3 years previous experience as a flood technician preferred
• A valid BC driver’s license and a personal vehicle are required

• Able to follow detailed processes and procedures

JOB SUMMARY:
The labourer is responsible for assisting the carpentry, painting, drywall and/or emergency services crew in completing their assigned tasks. He/she requires the skills to handle tools and materials accurately, efficiently, and safely. Good manual dexterity, attention to detail, eye-hand coordination, physical fitness, and a sense of balance are important. Ability to follow instructions and directions given by their crew leads.
JOB DUTIES:
As a labourer your duties may include, but are not limited to:
1. Assist in remediation and demolition work within the Emergency Services Department for a variety of residential, commercial and specialty construction clients in a 24/7 operation; possibility of 40+ hours per week
2. On-call and emergency response responsibilities and the availability to rotate on-call shifts after hours and weekends for emergency calls
3. Move or elevate any and all building contents that might be damaged permanently
4. Provide digital photos before, during and after emergencies and repair process
5. Learn and recognize contents listing policies and assist when required
6. Assist with demolition of fire claims, help with cleaning and other claims as required
7. Read all chemical labels including proper mixture amounts as per label
8. Ensure all documentation associated with assigned tasks is filled out accurately, completely and turned in promptly for proper invoicing
9. Maintain daily tracking of personal timesheet and job locations and tasks. Ensure that information recorded on timesheets is accurate and legible.
10. Phone clients on arrival times and keep clients aware of projected job timelines (refrain from discussing claim coverage or items not related to your trade with the customer)
11. Maintain proper hygiene
12. Knowledge of some basic carpentry, painting and/or drywall
13. Knowledge of safe operation of basic hand and power tools
14. Knowledge of workplace safetyPHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The labourer must have the ability and endurance (especially during inclement weather) to perform physically demanding and strenuous work requiring considerable standing, crawling, climbing, bending, lifting, and reaching overhead. Also must have the physical capability of working in fire/smoke, confined, and/or water damaged environments.

We are currently recruiting experienced climbing arborists who enjoy working within a team environment at a professional urban and rural tree service company.
Based in Qualicum Beach. We adhere to ISA protocols and ethics.
Work is full-time, permanent, and year-round on Vancouver Island, principally in the Qualicum Beach/Parksville area with the potential for some work required out of town.
The trees encountered are often very challenging and all work sites are driven by safe, effective, efficiency-based techniques. Applicants must possess a superior knowledge of all required ground and climbing duties, including tree assessment, climbing techniques and procedures, pruning and falling, and equipment inspection and maintenance. A commitment to the highest safety standards is imperative.
Applicants must hold a valid driver's license.
Compensation is commensurate with experience, ability and credentials.
Range is $50,000 - $75,000/year.
