Playa Dorada is a 6 unit gated condo development built by a North American builder, north of Bahia de Caraquez and about 5 km south of Canoa, Ecuador. The condos sit directly on the beach. Simply unlock the gate and the beach is there. Sitting on the balcony, enjoy the view of the ocean, the locals bringing in their catch, spectacular sunsets and a beautiful infinity pool which appears to drop into the Pacific Ocean.
The condo comes complete with 3 air conditioners, all furniture as seen in the photos, a fully equipped kitchen, linens, washer, dryer, high speed internet, flat screen smart TV.
Next to the infinity pool is a covered gazebo complete with a propane BBQ, tables, chairs and a sink with running water. Enjoy cooking with low cost shrimp & fish from the local fishermen and an abundant supply of vegetables from the markets. Relax around the pool and enjoy the sunshine and tropical vegetation.
The condo and grounds are non-smoking. Electrical plug-ins are 110 V, as in North America. Plumbing in our condo is to North American standards so toilet paper may be flushed down the toilet which is not the norm in Ecuador.
Condo unit comes with a garage so room for a car and storage.
We've successfully run Short-Term-Vacation rentals (through VRBO (#498103), AirBnB and privately) for all years of our ownership. If you are looking to offset home ownership costs, we have a good history, 5-star reviews and repeat vacationers.
There is tremendous value in being able to buy a turn-key rental property complete with a trustworthy property manager. You can continue to operate a rental business and/or use personally.

This four seasons cottage is our special place where our family continues to build memories year-round, but when we’re not there we are happy to share it with others who would like to experience the beauty of Mazinaw Lake.
There are 3 bedrooms: two with queen beds, and one with a single-over-queen bunk. We also have a spare single mattress and a spare crib mattress that can be put on the floor (we find those useful for kids who want to sleep in parents’ rooms).
There is one bathroom with an accessible shower, and the kitchen is fully equipped with a fridge, stove, microwave, and dishwasher. There is a washer & dryer behind the living area; please note that the washing machine cannot be used in the winter, neither can the bathroom sink (until we find a way to insulate those pipes). There are a few baseboard heaters that keep the place from freezing, but the main source of heat when visiting in cold weather is the wood stove (wood provided). It makes the cottage toasty-warm and provides beautiful ambiance, but please be mindful of fire safety and proper operation when using it! Ask if unsure :)
The space is lovely, open & bright with vaulted ceilings and huge windows. Being South-facing, it is flooded in lovey sunlight all day. The lake is visible from most rooms, with trees creating a bit of privacy from any passing boats.
We have a shelf full of toys for younger children, and a cupboard with board games. While the cottage is child-friendly it is not child-proofed, so remember to keep an eye on your little ones! There is a wall-mounted smart TV and Starlink internet keeps the cottage connected for streaming movies on rainy days or working remotely.
Outside the yard is large and has a feeling of privacy, which is helped by being the last cottage on the road. We do have neighbours nearby, though, so we ask that you are respectful of their privacy and keep the noise down especially in the evenings/night time. This is a small, quiet, family-friendly bay and not an appropriate place for parties.
Now to the best part… the lake! There is one flight of steps to get to the water, and we have a large dock for you to spend your day lying in the sun. We regularly have wildlife visiting us by the waterfront - if you’re lucky, you might spot a heron or the bay’s resident loon. We have two kayaks, a canoe, and a rowboat for your use (life jackets mandatory). You can paddle around the bay or out into the lake and down through The Narrows to see the awe-inspiring Mazinaw Rock. There is a water-access trail (from a dock on the East side of the Narrows) that you can hike up to a lookout on top of the cliffs for breathtaking views. You can pull ashore at Bon Echo provincial park where there are multiple beaches and miles of hiking trails, or use our park pass to drive over. There are also canoe portage routes around the lake that connect to other nearby lakes providing outdoor enthusiasts with unlimited opportunities to explore. Back at the cottage our waterfront is a mix of sand & rocks, and about knee-deep at the shore. The water is crystal clear and quickly gets deep enough for swimming.
To note: when paddling around the lake please avoid weed patches as there is an invasive species (Eurasian Milfoil) in some areas that we don’t want to spread anywhere else! If you bring your own kayak/canoe, you must make sure it is washed off before putting it in the lake to avoid the possible introduction of any other invasive species. This is proper etiquette at any lake :)

Whether you chose to go paddling around the lake, swimming off the dock, walking along the lane, hiking in the park, or just curling up by the fire with a good book, we are sure you will feel the magic of this space and make memories to last a lifetime.

Living room is equipped with comfy leather furniture, new Smart TV & Blu-ray player. Master bedroom with a New King-sized bed night stands, huge closets, electronic safe, patio doors to deck & TV. Second bedroom has 2 New Queen-sized beds, new dresser night stands. Condo comfortably sleeps up to 4 guests. Large patio with new 5 seat conversation set overlooking well-groomed gardens. This complex also boasts a state of the art water purification system so the water from the tap is safe for drinking and the fridge has an ice maker/crusher. It has a fully equipped kitchen, with all appliances and a washer/dryer. There is high speed WiFi internet in the condo as well as free WiFi in the common areas Pool area. You can rest and relax around the two private condo pools, hot tub, with BBQ palapa with a new Webber BBQ, umbrella tables and chairs, and loungers while overlooking the marina waterway. Or you can take a 5 minute stroll to your own private beach club which boasts the finest beach in Nuevo Puerto Vallarta. Volleyball, wave runners, banana boat rides and parasailing await you. Extra activities including championship golf at El Tigre golf course which is only a few minutes away via free shuttle. A beautiful new sports center and the Palenque Spa are now available to guests who purchase a social membership pass for a fee of $19.00 usd per person. This allows our guests full access to all the Paradise Village facilities for a full week of enjoyment. (Minimum stay requirements regulated) Reduced green fees at El Tigre, a new and exciting Kids Club, a private beach club, (located at the Playa Royale - Paradise Village) with a food drink concession, air conditioned change rooms, steam bath, sauna, showers lockers, a tennis and racquetball center, are just part of the benefits of the social membership. For your convenience just steps from the Condo is a 2 story shopping mall, where you'll find many shops and restaurants, including McDonald's, Subway and Dominos, for the kids. There is also a grocery store if you choose to dine in. Lots of fine dining choices close by or take a 5 minute Taxi/Uber ride to Bucerias, 20 minute taxi/Uber ride to old town PV. While in old town PV a visit to the Malecon is a must!
