motorcycle dog carrier
Description
I bought mine 4 years ago and had growing pains, like all the welds failed but being a pressure welder for the Inter'l Brotherhood of Boilermakers Local 146 for 35 years that was a quick fix
also after first ride my 4 little dog was leaning on the side walls and it was starting to get wearing marks; so I put 1 x 3 wood railings on the inside to correct that problem and 1/2 inch plywood on floor with 3 layers of 2 inch form; I call it a skid pad, lol
the bearings were only lasting about 1000 km after going threw 4 parts at $10 a pair I bought heavy duty ones at $120 a pair and so far after about 2650 km they are doing just fine
also the $20 Crappy Tires tire were going after about 1000 km so I bought 100% rubber yellow tubes, so now when I see yellow it about time to change tires, eh
I wired left and right blinkers and a stop and running light and have quick connect fasteners to disconnect
also a 2' link safety chain
I took it for a test run with two 30 lbs propane tanks in it for about 32 km on the highway going up two 120 km/m but I would never do that with my little brats
had no issues and the test model that I used I'm still using it after 4 years
and my 4 little monster I don't have to ask them if they want to go for a drive, they always jump in, a few growls if someone is in their spot, grrrrr let them figure it out
I got a brand new black and grey one just about ready to go, waiting on the yellow tubes
all welds went from 3/16 fillets - 50% done to 3/8 fillets - 100% done
also for over kill I put u-bolts around the axle and frame
I welded a stud to a 1/2 inch bolt that's holding my casting to the drive shaft for the towing bar
you can easily get one machined if you don't trust your welding
