If it ain't broken, don't fix it. But by all means, make it meaner! Boasting 180 hp and 140 Nm, the 1301 cc LC8, V-Twin has undergone a subtle yet impactful development. Optimized to be lighter but retaining its torquey character, this powerhouse is the benchmark of V-twin evolution. And with engine and linkage mounts that add to the overall structure of the entire package - it quite literally is the part that holds THE BEAST together.
- ENGINE CASE
Thinner engine casings and revised water and oil cooler mounts have resulted in a 0.8 kg weight saving, compared to the previous generation. Oil delivery has also been improved by way of a lightweight aluminum oil line, eliminating the need for a double wall system. Additionally, the engine carrier bracket and linkage mount have been integrated into the engine case, allowing for a stiffer connection. This has also resulted in a 5 mm higher swingarm pivot for improved stability and anti-squat.
- INJECTORS
Top feeder injectors and 56 mm throttle bodies provide an improved air to fuel mixture at high rpms. This results in more torque and better fuel economy throughout the rev range.
CHASSIS- FRAME
The frame, which uses the engine as a means to increase torsional rigidity, has resulted in the KTM 1290 SUPER DUKE R EVO being 3 times stiffer than its predecessor. This allows for an effortless, confidence-inspiring riding position which translate into an ultimately faster ride. This is achieved by maximizing the feedback from the chassis and the front tire. The frame also makes use of thicker diameter tubes with thinner walls, which is the single biggest weight saving measure on the bike - saving 2 kg compared to the previous generation model.
- SUBFRAME
Multi-dexterity is the name of the game when it comes to this BEAST's tail. A lightweight composite subframe combines a number of functions to save weight and increase functionality. The passenger seat, license plate holder and tail lights bolt directly onto the subframe structure with no additional brackets or attachments needed.
ERGONOMICS & COMFORT- HANDLEBAR
Finding the optimal seating position is made easy with an adjustable 760 mm wide handlebar. Riders can tailor their preferred reach with 4 positions over 22 mm, front to back, making it easy to attack corners and crucial for hanging on down the straights.
- MENU SWITCH
The KTM 1290 SUPER DUKE R EVO boasts an intuitive TFT dashboard with multi-functionality. 2021 KX250 very low hours (14) as just didn't have the time to ride unfortunately! Original owner, hour meter installed day one by the dealer and never raced. Ever the innovators, Honda has once again struck out in a bold new direction. Following on the heels of the successful CTX® 700 models, Honda introduces the next model in the CTX® range, the CTX® 1300T. Built around the venerable ST1300 V4 power plant, the CTX® 1300T enjoys impressive performance but delivers it in a more relaxed, less aggressive style. The low seat height and natural riding position make it extremely user friendly and immediately familiar to cruiser riders, but the silky smooth engine and sophisticated neutral handling chassis may be more reminiscent of a sport tourer. Right at home on the open road, this impressive do-it-all features integrated saddlebags, a protective frame-mounted fairing, a twin speaker stereo with Bluetooth connectivity, heated handlebar grips and, best of all, a fuel range of over 300 km from the under-seat tank so nothing spoils the fun. The CTX® 1300T looks like nothing else out there and works like nothing else out there, looks like Honda has done it again.
Engine Features May Include- The longitudinally-mounted 8-valve 1,261 cc, water-cooled, fuel-injected 90° V4 power unit from the ST1300 has received major revisions for use in the CTX® , boosting low and mid-range torque. Revised cam timing and new PGM-FI throttle bodies are responsible for the change in the engine’s output and character.
- The engine’s characterful feel and sound have been amplified by the use of uneven (150mm difference) exhaust pipe lengths in the 4-2-2 system.
- Overall gearing is tall, lowering engine rpm and adding to the tranquil, enjoyable ride.
- 5-speed gearbox and hydraulic clutch drive the rear wheel via maintenance-free shaft drive.
- Brand new steel double cradle split downtube frame with conservative geometry adds to the relaxed and comfortable nature of the CTX® .
- 690 mm long aluminum swingarm operates twin rear shocks, featuring mechanical spring preload adjustment so the ride can be tailored to suit the load.
- 43 mm inverted forks provide supple and well-damped control.
- Cast aluminum wheels – 18-inch x 3.5-inch front/17 x 6.25-inch rear – sport wide 130/70 R18 and 200/50R17 tires.

Control- WP XACT FRONT SUSPENSION
The 48 mm split air fork features a capsulated air spring and pressurized oil chamber for progressive and consistent damping. Extended oil and air bypasses reduce pressure peaks and 300mm cartridges and outer tubes provide refined rigidity. In combination with a midvalve damping system, the fork provides exceptional feedback and rider comfort. The setting is easily adjusted via the single air pressure pre-load valve, as well as through easy access click adjusters for compression and rebound. Additionally, the air pump needed to adjust the fork's air pressure is provided as standard.

2022 KTM Duke 890R -- this is the top of the line version of the bike, with the track pack (4 rider modes), up/down quickshifter, and cruise control added (+1500 to purchase price). Bike has just under 10,000 km. Also includes the rear passenger seat and pegs. Also has Samco hoses, replacement chain (stock chain on these was a cost-cutting measure), bar end mirror (stock ones included), radiator guards, and some orange anodized bling. Cheapest Duke 890R in Canada. Note that rear tailight and signals have been returned to stock to ensure it passes safety.
