Lumber Yard Manager
Rivers Home Hardware Building Centre – Rivers, MB
We are looking to hire an experienced Lumber Yard Manager to oversee and take full responsibility for our lumber operations. This is a hands-on leadership role suited for someone who understands building materials, can manage a team, and is confident in estimating and day-to-day decision making.
This position is intended for someone who can step in, bring structure to daily operations, and reduce the need for direct oversight.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee daily lumber yard operations and workflow
Manage and lead a team of 5 staff
Handle material estimating for contractors and projects
Coordinate ordering, inventory, and yard organization
Ensure accurate and efficient order picking and deliveries
Maintain a clean, organized, and professional yard environment
Work directly with customers and contractors to support sales
Identify inefficiencies and implement improvements in operations
Qualifications
Previous experience in lumber, building materials, or a similar industry is required
Strong knowledge of construction materials and estimating
Proven ability to manage staff and hold accountability
Organized, self-motivated, and able to work independently
Comfortable dealing with contractors and customers
Experience with POS or inventory systems is an asset
Position Details
Monday to Friday schedule
Salary: $65,000 – $90,000 based on experience
