1987 Mercedes diesel collector car!
Description
Attention! The uniquely chance! The 1987 classic from Mercedes Benz, imported from Germany to Canada as a used vehicle 15 years ago. Shortly afterwards it was converted from a gasoline engine to a diesel. An irreparable 1991 Mercedes diesel with automatic transmission, engine and rear axle served as the donor vehicle. Everything was done with the greatest care and the vehicle rewarded its owner with the reliability of Mercedes. Almost a year ago (the safety report is available) I bought this rust-free oldtimer for my wife and made a collector car out of it, but she doesn't like to drive it because the seating position and the overview cause problems and we don't have a garage for the car. So, after much deliberation, we decided to sell the vehicle - not to give it away! Of course, the Benz has various minor and other quirks, but given the overall good condition, you can live with them. The most important thing is that it drives, shifts (sometimes a little hard), steers and brakes. The engine consumes almost no oil, all units are tight and dry, you don't hear any suspicious noises and it is as good as rust-free. For the safety, 2 smaller holes were welded in the left rear wheel arch. The driver's door has 2 small rust spots in the area of the decorative strip, which were not treated very professionally, but are not getting any bigger. The rear door handles have been poorly repaired. the paint on the front doors is no longer nice in places, as well as on the right front fender. I also have a large number of different spare parts: the complete original rear axle and the automatic transmission (from the gas engine), a rear window, decorative strips and several boxes with small parts. The car has an electric steel sunroof, electric windows, power steering, air conditioning (no function), cruise control (also no function), central locking (works) and a European trailer hitch. The key can only be inserted and turned in the lock on the passenger door, but not in the driver's door. The main headlights are protected against falling rocks with a steel net. For the procurement of spare parts I still have the plate with the chassis number from the 1991 donor vehicle, from which the engine, the transmission and the rear axle come. There are still many companies on the Internet that sell cheap parts for this. Anyone looking for a worthwhile basis for a project will help a valuable vehicle to have a long life with little effort. Or just use it as an everyday car. Despite careful description, no guarantee or other warranty. Errors excepted. My asking price is $ 9,900.00. OBO
