Job Duties
Perform repairs and service on van bodies, trailers, roll up and barn doors
Perform repairs on tailgates and ramps
Perform safety checks and inspections on trucks and trailers
Perform Repairs on all types of equipment- Including farming equipment and heavy construction equipment
Perform maintenance services, with the primary focus on all refrigeration unit such as Carrier and/or Thermo King commercial refrigeration equipment designed for commercial trucks and trailers
Recharge systems with refrigerant and performing routine checks
Perform preventative maintenance on trailers
Assist in the installation and replacement of various transportation equipment components
Read schematics
Ensure high standards of workmanship and efficiency
Maintain a clean working area free from dirt and debris between tasks and at end of day
Ensure outputs meet production schedules, safety and quality standards, as well as customer needs
Resolve work problems and recommend measures to improve productivity, product quality, and safety
Ensure compliance with company policies and standards for cost control, waste reduction, quality, safety, and complete and on-time delivery
Ensure proper use of required personal protective equipment
Perform daily maintenance and safety checks on all equipment and tools
Mark, record, and report defective products
Other tasks assigned by the supervisor or management
Possible evening and weekend shifts
Job Requirements
Preferred experience: 310T Licensed Mechanic
A 310S mechanic license is an asset
High School Diploma or Equivalent
Must be available to work all shifts and some Saturdays
Work Conditions
Exposure to hazards associated with the industry/trade
Use of required personal protective equipment
Operation and use of necessary tools, machinery, or equipment
Extended periods of standing, and other physically demanding conditions
Lifting, moving, or manipulating objects up to 50 kilograms
