50000km, comes with aftermarket seat, carbon fiber tank protectors, and KTM hard case panniers.
I have some spare parts, and the previous owner serviced it at GPbikes. I've owned this bike for 2~ years and perform my own maintenance. Valves were in spec.
Common issues you'll find online about this bike:
- water pump impeller/ shaft is fine, no leaks/ no coolant in the oil.
-fuel pump is fine, I also have a spare new one
- clutch slave cylinder - still on the OEM,no leaks. I replace the o-rings every season. I haven't had any trouble.
Make an offer or trade, resonalable offers will be considered. (These bike go for around $6/7000 out here in Toronto, ON.)
I can take more pictures if you would like. This is the best bike I've owned, lots of power and high ground clearance. Very rare bike, always turns heads in the adv bike scene. Own a piece of Dakar history.

I have a 1978 KZ400 that has super low km's and runs as if it was brand new. It has a brand new battery, front master cylinder, stainless braided line, new mirrors, mufflers, headlight/tail light, super nice hagon rear shocks and more.
It had been sitting for 20+ years when I got it so I changed the oil, put in two new carb kits and cleaned up some of the wiring the P/O had wrecked, set the valve clearance, threw in the new battery and it fired right up. The paint was in terrible shape when I got it so got the spray guns out and went for a metallic forest green base, then added a rainbow flake and a show clear.
The reason I'm selling is I got this bike for my girlfriend and she has now moved to Portland.
This is a turn the choke on, press the button and go bike, in immaculate mechanical condition and a look that sets it apart. (really cheap insurance)

Bought the bike to learn to work on them, rebuilt most of the bike and replaced all engine seals and gasgets. Bike dosent run mostly because I haven’t tried. Some small wiring left to be done and it should fire up, engine turns over fine with good compression. I’ll never be able to ride the bike because it’s registered in BC and my license is Albertan and I’m not intrested in having it out of province inspected. Bike is here in Victoria. I’ve replaced the
Engine seals
Tail lights
Signals
Brake master
Brake pads front and rear
Chain and sprockets
Air filter
Mirrors
Fuel filters
Gas tank was cleaned out
All cables were cleaned and lubricated
Everything was painted down to the frame
Engine with high temp paint
Leather was polished
all rubber was pulled and cleaned
Etc etc the brakes are all adjusted and bleed
Only thing stopping the bike from running is some wiring (I’ve done most of it)
Schools becoming more intensive by the day and I can’t store it in the garage without paying and I would like it out of my living room. Kinda just run out of time for it, did enjoy building it and parts were cheap. Just needs a home for someone who will tune it up and acutally ride it.
