Beginner Safe Gelding (SOLD)
Description
Meet Maximus!
Max is a 17.2hh, 17 year old, draft x. I believe him to be crossed with some sort of sport horse. He use to be an ex Amish horse so I’m assuming he has driving and riding experience. He has an old shoulder injury (told was caught up in a fence as a yearling) and unfortunately they never let it heal before they put him to work. Arthritis has set in which is why I put him on Previcox and it’s done wonders for him. Because of this, I have no attempted to drive him. He has an off gate at the walk and is lame at the trot (or he’s gaited which is possible) but when he’s feeling good, he’ll canter and it’s a lovely smooth one. He does have days where he is more sore than others. I asked my vet about it and she said as long as he’s wanting to go forward, allow him too. He’ll trot and canter under saddle and is just a really easy dude. I mostly do road and trail riding with him. I actually pony my filly off of him as well. He’s safe enough that I trust to put anyone on him.
Max was a rescue and came severely underweight. Thankfully he has gained weight and looks great. He is grained 1x per day with his previcox and hemp oil. He stays outdoors with access to 24/7 hay. He is currently turned out with my 2 fillies, my mare, and a henny. Not a dominant boy at all but will stand up for himself.
Max is ideally looking for a home where he can be a companion/light riding horse. He still loves to be ridden on the trails so as long as he has that mindset, I would say keep riding him. He’s a super gentle soul and loves kids.
Just testing the waters to see if anyone would be interested. Would not be upset if he doesn’t sell. Located in Mallorytown.
Can come with his winter blankets for a fee.
