1981 Contessa 32 for sale, many upgrades
Description
Tazling (ex-Swack, ex-Achilles) was built 1981 by J J Taylor in Ontario. Solid glass throughout (no cored anything). Classic Folkboat-based lines. Over-spec rigging for bluewater work. Easily singlehanded, light on the helm, willing and capable to windward. The model is legendary for its seakeeping ability in heavy air; a UK built 32 was the only boat in her class to complete the disastrous 1979 Fastnet.
I've had her since 2013 and have made many significant upgrades; see link below for full details and many photos. Regularly hauled and properly maintained. To clarify condition: engine, sails, rig, ground tackle are excellent. Cosmetically, just "good".

Seller has put about $40K worth of upgrades into the boat over the last 9 years.
If you are not familiar with the marque: the 32 is small for her LOA, quite intimate for a couple and downright crowded for more than 2, but ideal for a singlehander or a parent and child. If you are 6 ft tall or over, you will find the headroom a bit low. Easily handled in almost any air, roller reefing genoa, very suitable for female as well as male singlehanders. I have spent most of every summer aboard, cruising anywhere between Bella Coola / Fitzhugh Sound, and Texada, Lasqueti etc.
Includes a roller furling drifter and an A-sail with snuffer, Monitor windvane, many other goodies.
Reason for selling: advancing age and multiple back injuries mean I can no longer enjoy singlehanding and am reluctantly going to the dark side (motor vessel) this year. I hate to part with Tazling but can't afford to keep two boats, so she needs a new home. Currently lying Gorge Harbour, Cortes Island.
