Early hardtail, silver tag model, rebuilt top end, piston, rings, gaskets, have about 10 pages of receipts of work on the bike, starts, runs, goes into gear just fine, on the second brand new Amazon carb, both of which leaked through the the float overflow, don’t have time to tinker with it any longer…
Price is basically firm as I know they are getting hard to find, only selling because have 11 other projects on the go, will keep the bike otherwise. Have pictures to show how I found it. Took a year to rebuild, please price up parts by doing your homework, the muffler was $300 alone.

Exceptionnelle BMW F900XR 2021 comme neuve achetée en mai 2022 et toujours remisée à l’intérieur. Esthétiquement et mécaniquement impeccable, une routière sportive comme il s’en fait peu. Elle a tout les « pack » disponibles de BMW. Cruise control, suspension ajustable, preparation GPS. Seulement 11 000km. J’ai fait améliorer la selle avec du gel par Premium Seats. Je laisse avec la moto : support arrière pour top case Givi, le pare-brise court d’origine, le pare-brise moyen de BMW (celui sur les photos) ainsi que le pare-brise haut V-Stream d’une valeur de 300$. Je laisse aussi les accessoires d’origine si elles ont été remplacées. Tous les entretiens sont à jour, la moto est encore couverte par la garantie de BMW 3 ans, les pneus sont encore neufs. Une moto vraiment plaisante à conduire et extrêmement confortable. Raison de la vente : comme en témoigne le faible kilométrage, je n’ai pas le temps d’en faire suffisamment.

Engine
With a sledgehammer hit of power and earth-twisting torque, the proven V-twin LC8 engine once again takes the accolades as the most compact, lightest, and best performing engine in the segment. Its greener too, and will deliver 15,000 km service intervals and low fuel consumption, trip after trip, mile after mile.
Transmission
Helping the KTM 1290 SUPER ADVENTURE R shift - in more ways than one - is a 6-speed PANKL transmission with a new, lighter aluminum shifting drum with optimized tracks for faster, smoother gear changes. Shifting forks have also been coated in copper to reduce wear and tear. This also helps the Quickshifter+ engage quicker for ultra-fast, slick gear changes.
02. CHASSIS
Frame
A new, reworked, and lightweight, chrome-molybdenum stainless steel trellis frame featuring laser-cut tubes, combines with forged elements for an ultra-strong component on the KTM 1290 SUPER ADVENTURE R. The steering head has been moved 15 mm rearwards, to shorten the overall frame for improved cornering behavior, while the front engine mount has been rotated forward by 2 degrees to aid in hard acceleration, keeping the front end firmly planted on the ground.
Swingarm
Extended by 15 mm to optimize tracking stability in conjunction with the shorter frame, the die-cast, open-lattice swingarm retained it's lightweight and pin-point manufacturing to provide stiffness and uncompromised control when hitting the dirt.
03. ERGONOMICS & COMFORT
Handlebar
Wide, adjustable, and ready for long hours in the saddle, the high-strength tapered aluminum handlebars are designed to provide riders with greater control, and uncompromised comfort. Testastretta 11° DS
The Testastretta 11° engine was introduced on the Multistrada 1200 in 2010. Derived from the Superbike 1198 engine, it achieved brilliant results when valve overlap was reduced from 41° (typical of sport engines) to 11°, losing some peak power in favour of improved overall smoothness, especially in the mid-range.
The new Multistrada family introduces the second generation of Testastretta 11° DS engines with several new features that make it even smoother and more tractable. Dual Spark ignition (DS) uses two plugs per cylinder to ensure complete combustion in very short time. The fuel injectors have been relocated to aim the jet of fuel directly at the hotter rear end of the suction valve, so that all fuel is atomised. A secondary air system similar to that of the 1199 Panigale has been introduced to optimise operation and reduce cyclic combustion variability without affecting emissions. A controlled flow of fresh air is supplied to the exhaust duct to enable complete oxidisation of hot unburnt gases, to effectively reduce hydrocarbon and carbon monoxide levels.
With 150 hp power, 12.7 Kgm (124.5 Nm) torque and 10% less consumption (at 90 kph), the Testastretta 11° DS engine sets a new benchmark for Ducati twin-cylinder engines.
Slipper clutch requires less effort at the lever
The wet clutch of the Multistrada 1200 provides a lighter feel at the lever, ensuring great comfort even when the rider needs to shift gears frequently. The system features an anti-hop function for guaranteed stability under hard braking.
Magnesium front subframe
The magnesium front subframe helps shed off some more weight and provides firm, stable support to front light unit, instrument panel and fairing. Its special construction has been designed to reduce weight up front and high up on the bike, so as to further improve riding control. Although this component is hidden from sight under the fairing, its design has been perfected down to the finest detail.
Single-sided swinging arm
The single-sided swinging arm is maybe the most elegant, yet complex mechanical component of the new Multistrada 1200. It is chill-cast in a single piece with four bonded cores for a sleeker inboard contour, machined and paint finished. The result is a beautifully sculpted, functional component that enhances the stylish design of the Multistrada 1200 and ensures superior roadworthiness.
