I strongly believe we really need to talk about YOU, not me, because it is you, your passion for the game, your desire to work and learn, and your determination to reach your goals that will shape our path! Let's keep that for our first meeting, and here please allow me to introduce myself: My name is Joy, a dentist, chess author, international chess player and instructor, certified by World Chess Federation "FIDE", and the owner/director of The King’s Gambit Chess Academy Inc., located in Montreal, where students of all ages and skills from all 10 provinces and 3 territories of Canada, China / Hong Kong, USA, Mexico, Australia, and Iceland study, practice, and enjoy chess! I have vast experience of 39 years playing chess since childhood, and 28 years teaching it. Having passed this long road helps me deal with players of all ages, levels, and potential.Methodology:
Chess is the most beautiful game in the world, a magical combination of the logic of science, the beauty of art and the charm of history! We will explore this magical world from all angles, by studying the science of chess (openings - middle games - final games - tactics - strategy - positional pressure...etc.) in a very academic way, enjoying the art and absolute beauty where the entertainment and the fun are, and telling historical facts and amazing stories about great champions - some of those stories were told to me by the living legends themselves - while analyzing the games related to those tales, to draw inspiration from the legends of the ancient royal game, from Philidor to Carlsen! All of this will be in interactive lessons designed to suit each trainee's style, strengths, abilities and even personality. The tools will be the most modern, high-end, and advanced chess software, databases, and platforms in the world.CV:

9- Shared 2nd place in UAE Grand Prix 2011 behind IM Fouad Al Taher but ahead of GM Sergey Kayumov among others. I was among only 12 finalists who qualified out of hundreds of participants after 9 months of preliminary stages.
10- 4th place in Ramadan Blitz Tournament 2010 Ahead of 4 GMs, 5 IMs, 2 FMs, 1 WFM and many international rated players.
11- Trainer of U14-U12-U10-U8 players in Abu Dhabi Chess Club 2010-2011. My players made considerable progress within the first 4 months.
12- The reigning Correspondence Chess champion of my country of origin.
13- U 20 Champion of my country-of-origin 1994.
14- U 14 Champion of my country-of-origin 1989.
15- In 2012 I participated in the preparation of the interface of the "Houdini for android" project. Unfortunately, the project was subsequently stopped by the programmer due to copyright protection concerns.

An FSR can make these declarations on behalf of a contractor. In order to become a certified FSR, you must meet certain eligibility requirements (dependent on certification class) and pass a certification exam.
TRU's FSR course offerings are delivered fully online with continuous enrolment availability. The preparation courses are self-paced and self-directed, and include subject matter support by phone and email. I will be conducting a Fly Tying Course for 3 weeks with 2 sessions per week for a total of 6 sessions starting on February 13th and final session will be held on February 29th. Sessions will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:30pm to 10 pm or whatever time is convenient for participants. The cost of the course will be $150. All equipment snd supplies will be provided.
Skills you will learn:
1. Build and use leader material
2. Tie knots relevant to fly fishing
3. Identify the food fish feed on and how to imitate that food with your flies
4. Use fly tying tools and procedures

TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas) is a welding process where a tungsten electrode carries an electric arc to the metal while an envelope of inert gas (argon) surrounds and protects it. TIG is used to weld all metals including copper, titanium, brass, aluminum, and yes, even cast iron. TIG can also be used to weld around tricky or curved joints.

This two-day course includes an introduction to fire behaviour, entrapment (S-185), suppression, tools and equipment, fire line safety, water delivery systems, and WHIMS, as well as a practical portion and exam. This WorkSafeBC course provides Occupational First Aid, Level 1 and 2 certificate holders with the required training to move injured workers.
The curriculum includes:
Patient handling and lifting techniques
Use of the spine board and basket stretchers
Spinal immobilization techniques
Patient assessment and treatment during transport
Critical interventions
Transportation method
Upon successful completion, you will receive a Transportation endorsement certificate. This certificate expires with the Occupational First Aid Level 1 or 2 certificates.A transportation endorsement ticket is required in any Class A hazard job that is located more than 20 minutes of surface travel from a hospital when the crew size is two to 10 workers.

I'm a Sheridan Animation student in my second year! I'm offering virtual portfolio workshop/critique for students looking to apply to an animation or animation adjacent program for the 2024 fall semester (or later if you are planning early).
Virtual portfolio sessions are 45m-1h long and include critique for fundamentals including principals of animation and perspective as well as critique on creative direction for personal work. Critique includes draw-overs and examples. If applying to a specific school we will go over the portfolio requirements and work through them together.
These sessions are for students who have current work they need help improving, or for students who are looking to build an early portfolio for a specific school. I have acceptances for Sheridan College Animation (scoring a 93% on my portfolio and a 3.9 GPA), OCADU Illustration, Algonquin College Animation and Seneca College Animation.
