Valley Community Learning Association (VCLA) is offering a free computer course every semester. Semesters run from September to January, and from February to June.
This course is intended for those with relatively low computer skills.
There is no need for a computer; there is a computer for every student in the classroom.
Classes run Mondays and Wednesdays from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm.
Additional hours are available for practice, help, projects, or questions.
Additional information: small classes, one-on-one help, very hands-on, using Windows, all major topics covered (Windows, email, hardware, file system, browsers, the web, office applications, etc.)
Lunch is provided at no cost for those interested.
Serious and committed candidates only, please. Attendance is very important.
There are a limited number of seats available. A cohort with similar skill levels will be selected from the available candidates. The students will be selected based on a first-come, first-served basis, so the sooner you call to register the better.
Intakes take place the two weeks before the start of the courses. These are individual, short, in-person meetings with the instructor.

We still have openings. Canadian Firearms saety course(CFSC) which is on 11 April and is the non-restricted fire_arms course( rifles and shotguns - hunting fire_arms). On 12 Apr we will be running the restricted Firearms safety course(CRFSC). You need to complete the CFSC as a prerequisite to attending the CRFSC. Individual courses are $150.00 sign up for both for $270.00 . Group rates(4 or more) and Veterans discounts are available. On completion of the course you will receive a course report which you send to the RCMP and will allow you to apply for Possession and Acquisition Licence(PAL). There is nothing you need to do to prepare for the course I will prepare you for the exam and answer any questions you might have. Wednesday, April 22 to Wednesday, May 13
6:00 pm to 9:00 pm
The course will focus on learning the basics of using a woodburning tool, including how to prepare a surface for burning, transfer patterns, safety, and techniques for employing the various tips. However, students will also learn more intermediate/advanced techniques, including adding texture, highlights, and shading to a variety of images and surfaces. While patterns will be provided, students should also feel free to be creative and pursue projects of interest to them.
While all materials and tools will be provided, anyone with their own woodburning system or woodworking tools is encouraged to bring them.

My name is Susan, and I am a qualified, and very experienced instructor, with over 30 years of teaching experience, both in a private setting, and at the university level. I have taught students of all ages and levels of study. My education includes a BA (Mus), andMMus (Piano Performance).
If you are wanting to learn to play the piano, or improve your keyboarding skills, I would love to help you, or your child, achieve those goals.
In the past couple of years I have started teaching virtually, and you may wonder if learning to play piano in this format is effective. The answer is YES! My students have had great results with remote lessons!.
I have found that in terms of musical growth, we can accomplish the same things online as we could in person. This includes the student/teacher relationship which is so important. On top of that, I really enjoy being able to share my love of music with students from so many different locations.
There are also the practical benefits to learning remotely such as the convenience of signing into lessons from home, the time and expense saved from not having to travel for lessons, etc etc.
