Help me find a picture of my biological grandmother!
Description
I am searching for relatives of my biological grandmother. She was born November 3, 1927 in Saltsprings, Pictou County Nova Scotia. Her parents lived there as well. Based on the information I have her father may have suffered from 'infantile paralysis'. In 1949 she had two siblings, a sister 14 and a brother 4. Her sister is still alive as far as I know and the brother died within the last few years.
My mother was born in June 1949. At that time her birth mother had one other child, a girl, born in May 1947.
Birth mother lived in Ontario (Hamilton based on what I have) at the time and came back to Nova Scotia to have the baby. She left her older child with her parents and told no one, except the birth father, of the pregnancy. When the child was born she left the hospital without naming her. Family services kept in touch as long as they could, but the birth mother was not co-operative. She eventually returned to Ontario and died there October 13, 1998. She is buried in Oak Grove Cemetery in Saltsprings, Nova Scotia. She was married July 27, 1951. Her husband died February 2003 and is buried with her. I have been to the cemetery.
Her initial before marriage were MC, after ML.
I am not looking to disrupt anyone's life. My mother is 73 and before she leaves this earth the one gift I would like to give her is the seeing her mother's face. I just want a picture, that's it.
We have found her birth father's family. So we have those pictures. It would be so amazing to bring this 65 year search to a close with that last piece of the puzzle.
Thanks for reading this. If you can help please reach out, even if it's just with that long sought after photo.
Update: A few more details that may help identify her and get me that long sought after picture - besides my mother and the 1947 child, MC/ML had 5 other children with the husband she married in 1951. Those still living reside in Ontario as far as I know, one may have died before MC/ML. MC/ML was an employee of Canada Customs until she retired.
