Catineau E: Drogues, voleurs, crimes
I moved into postal code J8P which is East Gatineau 3 years ago and it's one of the worst decisions I ever made.
Why?
I say this mostly because there is so much theft, prostitution, drugs, and people stealing things in this area. There are dozens of males and females riding around on bicycles at night with trailers, claiming to be looking for discarded drinking cans and bottles to return for the refundable 10 cent deposit. As you can see in some of the images I have, they claim that if you "don't leave your stuff outside that it won't get stolen." This is often a lie because I've had bicycles locked outside with locks cut!
The truth is they use this as a deplorable excuse to be able to scout houses and apartment complexes for high value items to steal from you including bicycles, cars, and anything with 0 value as well!
There are also a plethora of run-down apartment complexes here run by slum lord land lords which also contributes to the problems!
I have emailed City of Catineau and not 1 person has replied. I also left Facebook messages about the problems here and no one does a thing!
Steer clear from this area in Gatineau which is postal code J8P or you will regret it!
** UPDATE: I should let you readers know that I was someone who was homeless off and on my entire life mainly due to family problems caused mainly by the terrible medical system we have. I was also victimized by "doctors" as well who only push pills. So now you can't say I am not "understanding."

Pourquoi?
Je dis cela surtout parce qu'il y a tellement de vols, de prostitution, de drogue et de voleurs dans cette région. Il y a des dizaines d'hommes et de femmes qui se promènent à bicyclette la nuit avec des remorques, prétendant chercher des canettes et des bouteilles jetées à retourner pour le dépôt remboursable de 10 cents. Comme vous pouvez le voir sur certaines des images que j'ai, ils prétendent que si vous "ne laissez pas vos affaires dehors, elles ne seront pas volées". C'est souvent un mensonge car j'ai eu des vélos enfermés à l'extérieur avec des cadenas coupés !
La vérité est qu'ils utilisent cela comme une excuse déplorable pour pouvoir rechercher des maisons et des complexes d'appartements à la recherche d'objets de grande valeur à vous voler, notamment des vélos, des voitures et tout ce qui a une valeur de 0 !
Il existe également une pléthore de complexes d'appartements délabrés gérés par des propriétaires de bidonvilles, ce qui contribue également aux problèmes !
J'ai envoyé un courriel à la ville de Catineau et aucune personne n'a répondu. J'ai aussi laissé des messages Facebook sur les problèmes ici et personne ne fait rien !
Évitez ce secteur de Gatineau dont le code postal est J8P ou vous le regretterez!

هناك أيضًا عدد كبير من المجمعات السكنية المتداعية هنا التي يديرها أمراء أراضي الأحياء الفقيرة مما يساهم أيضًا في حدوث المشكلات!

I am looking for vacant land to reforest. This is a bit of an odd request, as I am looking to partner with someone to help bring life back to vacant or damaged land. I do not have the access, or the ownership of land to do this myself and my hope is that someone has some land that they would like to improve, but don't have the means or time to complete the work. I'm hoping this can be a win-win scenario.
A bit about myself, I am a local business owner and through my work, I help people remove trees and wild land to build new construction. It is a valuable part of society and our economy, but it can be draining at times. I truly want to help and improve our local land, so it can sometimes be frustrating within the business. I'm hoping through this task or reforesting someone else's land, I can give back and counteract the removal/alteration of other work being competed.
I have always been drawn to wildlife and nature. It helped be through college and university for a degree and diploma. It took me out west where I used my education to eventually write and photograph for a major national newspaper. Coming back home to Ontario I have done the same with smaller local publications. With all of this, I find I often see the loss of habitat in our growing areas within Canada, hopefully through this, we can help improve some habitat and bring it back to what it once was.
Through this process, I will be documenting the changes and the goal would be to use this first project as a way to ramp up to a larger operation. With any luck, early success may result in a larger operation with donations and government help to impact many more properties. As I said, I was/am a writer and photographer and so will be documenting this process with photography and possibly video as well. All of the photos for this ad were taken by myself and are all local to the Quinte area (unfortunately Kijiji doesn't help the quality of the photo!).
So if you have some land and want to find a way to partner up and really improve your land. I would love to chat. More than anything it would be great to speak with some like-minded people with similar thoughts or goals.
