Three years ago an almost stranger called me and asked if I wanted to use a room in the condo they had rented. It was an amazing gift as I was at a place where I needed the break. On my mini-vacation I made a commitment that I would do the same for others if I had the opportunity.
Fast forward and now for the past 2 years I have offered up a room in my rented condo in Canmore to anyone who could use a break or a getaway. In May I am getting away again for a personal retreat and if someone wants to use the other room in the condo you are welcome to it.
In past years I have successfully made this offer 4 times. Only one of those times was a train wreck - so those are not bad odds huh? You can treat this like a rental for yourself however I will not be asking for any rent. I really just want to give a gift to someone who might be struggling and just need a break.
Here is what you need to know…
- I will not make the offer to a complete stranger. This means I will require you to interact with me on some level before you come to the condo.
- You can be male or female.
- You do not have to hang out with me for the 5 days away. I am coming for my personal retreat. To hike and explore the area. What you do is up to you.
- Under no circumstances will I tolerate any partying or drugs at the condo. Also, smoking will not be allowed inside.
- I am not looking to get anything out of this except maybe a friend. This is my way of paying it forward.
I am a mid-50’s man who has, in the last 5 years, found myself recreating and doing life pretty much alone. I like to bless good people who like myself, share a quiet and respectful demeanour. I am sure you have questions, please ask away. This offer has taken a few months to fill in the past so I am starting early. Also, I am presently actively looking among my friends and family as they will get priority.
Hope to hear from you. I am looking forward to meeting some good folks.

Many of us have seen our connections to our wives and girlfriends slowly wither over time. We don't want to leave our relationships, we just would like to sometimes feel the spark and the connection we used to feel.
Through experience I've learned a few tips that have helped me reconnect with my wife. I've shared these tips with friends and many have found them helpful. I'd like to share them with other men who are in the same boat.
If this sounds like you and you'd like a few new ideas please let me know.
