We are looking for receipts and coupons.
For the receipts, it’s for a volunteer project that we’re doing. Preferably ones paid by cash and don’t have membership information on them to protect privacy. It would also be given to a day home to be used as arts and crafts.
For the coupons, it’s to be given out to non profits. If you have any to spare, that would be much appreciated. We are looking for anything but the most needed are food, basic needs, baby related and pet food coupons. As of right now, we are mainly looking for ones that expire in December or sometime next year. But if you have any that don’t expire within the next 3-4 months, we accept those too.

Navigating through tough times can be a daunting experience, especially when faced with the challenges of eviction, theft, and financial strain. Finding myself in a situation where basic necessities such as clothes, shoes, and toiletries are stolen can be overwhelming. Add to that the burden of begging for money to pay bills and replace stolen items, and the situation becomes even more precarious. Such circumstances can leave a person feeling vulnerable and desperate for assistance.
My eviction from a friend’s house and moving in with someone who turns out to be a foe can turn life upside down in an instant. Losing my personal belongings such as clothes, shoes, purses, bedding, art supplies, and even a library book can feel like a violation of one’s privacy and security. The emotional toll of such events can be immense, leading to feelings of betrayal and helplessness. In addition to the loss of possessions, the financial strain of having to replace stolen items can further exacerbate the situation.

I'm creating a new podcast called (for now anyway) "John and Mary Haves a Talk." The idea is that John and Mary are a couple who live in St. John's and the topic of each episode would be something that SJ'ers could relate to. For example, I've already written one episode where they have a debate/argument about which is better milk, Brookfield or Central Dairies.
Each episode would be about 5 minutes long and I would do all the writing and audio production and editing and all that. Your job, as Mary, would be just to have a Google Meet call with me and we would then record the show based on a script I have written. We could even record more than one at a time.
I'm thinking that we would start out at one episode a week, but increase to two, especially if it was getting lots of downloads. I've got lots of experience in hosting several podcasts.

- You have to be able to do (or already have!) a good Newfie accent

Gender-diverse people include transgender, nonbinary, two-spirit, genderqueer people, and anyone who identifies as non-cisgender. Participation will take approximately 2 hours of your time.
