Smoke and Sow is hiring a general manager to work on site in Porter Creek! We're a well-established restaurant with great standing in the community, and we're looking forward to bringing you aboard! You'll be working very closely with our owner and head chef, and managing the day to day of our busy bbq joint!
Details of the role include:
Staff Management: Hiring, training, scheduling, and managing staff, including front-of-house (servers, bartenders) and back-of-house (chefs, kitchen staff).
Customer Satisfaction: Ensuring a positive dining experience, addressing customer complaints, and implementing strategies to improve customer satisfaction
Financial Management: Developing and adhering to budgets, managing expenses, analyzing financial reports, and implementing strategies to increase revenue and profitability.
Inventory Control: Managing inventory levels, ordering supplies, and minimizing waste.
Operational Efficiency: Overseeing all aspects of the restaurant's operation to ensure it runs smoothly, efficiently, and in compliance with company standards and regulations.
Quality Assurance: Maintaining high standards for food quality, cleanliness, and service.
Compliance: Ensuring adherence to health and safety regulations, licensing requirements, and other legal obligations.
Strategic Planning: Developing and implementing strategies to improve restaurant performance, attract new customers, and increase market share.
Essential Skills and Qualifications: At least 1 year experience in a managerial role in a restaurant
Leadership and Management: Strong leadership skills, ability to motivate and manage staff, and experience in managing multiple teams.
Customer Service: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to handle customer complaints and ensure a positive dining experience.
Financial Acumen: Understanding of financial principles, budgeting, and expense management.
Operations Management: Knowledge of restaurant operations, including food service, inventory control, and compliance.
Problem-Solving: Ability to identify and resolve problems effectively, and make sound decisions.
Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with staff and customers.
Time Management: Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
1 year of food service experience in a supervisory role and/or college diploma in business or hospitality required.
Full-time, 35-40hr, salary of $23.80 to $37.99 depending on experience
