Two VALAIS BLACKNOSE x ewe lambs born in 2023. Best known for being known as the Cutest Sheep in the World, Valais Blacknose sheep are also the friendliest and will follow you around like a dog hoping for pats, scritches and attention.
Petunia and Fern are 50% (f1) Valais and with their people loving natures are fantastic pets, breeding and fibre (wool) sheep.
Fern (registered Gotland x Valais) will be a wonderful addition for anyone wanting fabulous, soft, curly, long wool with lots of luster (shine). She is very friendly and loves attention, even coming up to strangers to visit with them. She was sheared in the fall and has already grown 5-6” of wool. There is a small chance she is pregnant to a registered Cotswold ram.
Petunia (registered Babydoll x Valais) is adorable with her black and white Valais colouring and inviting head tilt when she looks at you. She is very mellow, taking after her laid back parents in personality as well as looks.
$1400 each. Extremely rare the Valais Blacknose are just starting to be bred in Canada from imported embryos and semen.

They are new to Canada and being bred up to purebred, there are a few purebreds imported as frozen embryos in Canada. Valais sheep are incredibly friendly and often described as dog-like with their people loving personalities. Ours are also very trainable and we are teaching Annie (Valais x Babydoll) how to do tricks like a dog, she quickly learned how to walk on a lead and is learning how to spin and go over ramps and the teeter-totter. Valais Blacknose have amazing wool and can be sheared twice a year yielding 6 – 8” long, soft, lustrous fleece. We carefully chose our ewes for friendly, easy going personalities over the wilder but closer in colour Scottish Blackface sheep that others are using to breed up with and this is paying off with in your pocket lambs.

Annabeth, Registered Miniature Babydoll black yearling ewe, was born in February 2023. She is small like her parents, her dad was only 22” tall and Clover, her mom was a short 21”.
Her mom, Clover is exceptional because her wool has stayed black while most ‘black’ Babydolls lighten quickly to grey or brown. Annabeth is like her mom and is still black under the red sunbleached tips. This makes for a spectacular dark fleece and the Babydoll wool is so soft. She is a bit shy but typical of the food motivated Babydolls she quickly warms up to you if you have food and with one on one time and food bribery she'll become quite tame, I just haven't spent the time with her.
Babydoll sheep are perfect for the first time sheep owner with their delightful, friendly personalities. They are easy to handle and care for and always have a welcoming smile for you.

Breed information
The American Blackbelly sheep is a hair sheep, originally developed by crossbreeding programs involving primarily Mouflon and Barbados Blackbelly. Resulting hybrids produced poor horn growth that interfered with the animals' faces. Repeated back crossing on the Mouflon improved horn growth to the extent that the hybrid attracted the attention of trophy hunters. Eventually, a strain of exotic looking animals with massive horns evolved and came to be referred to as "Corsican" in reference to the origin of the Mouflon ancestors. The original cross has subsequently been developed into several distinctive breeds of hair sheep. The American Blackbelly is a breed of Corsican descent that is readily identifiable by a very well-defined coat pattern and is registered by the Barbados Blackbelly Sheep Association International- BBSAI. Rams generally display spectacular horns, while ewes may have horns or are polled (hornless). The sheep sport a distinctive hair coat in a range of tan to brown to red, with dramatic black markings.
The American Blackbelly is a thrifty, energetic, small- to medium-sized sheep with a strong flocking instinct. Because of this trait, American Blackbelly sheep are excellent for training cutting horses and herding dogs. It is well adapted to a broad range of environments, breeding goals, and management styles. On the farm, it is desired for its productivity and thriftiness, great prolificacy, and fairly low maintenance. Mature ewes generally have two to three or more lambs in any season, and depending on management, are capable of lambing three times in two years or so. They are very good mothers. Because of their potential reproductive capacity and out-of-season breeding, ewes are suited to an accelerated lambing program.American Blackbelly sheep will grow more or less winter wool, mostly in response to local winter conditions, which is entirely shed in spring/summer to reveal a coarse, flat hair coat with distinctive, antelope-like markings. It is never docked or sheared. As American Blackbelly Sheep are hair sheep (have no wool and therefore no lanolin) to taint the flavor of the meat, this ensures that blackbelly lamb never tastes "muttony." Blackbelly lamb is an exceptionally mild-flavored, lean meat said to please even those folks who say they don't like lamb. It tastes very similar to Mountain Sheep.

Both bores are friendly gentle and easy to handle. Excellent bloodlines and great physical bread characteristics. Both are a good size and roundness would make excellent breeders for meat production or hobby breeding.
The bores are a year and a half old and ready for breeding. February is a great time to start your litter planning to have piglets at the start of the warm weather and after things dry up from winter.

Pink halter for sale in Fort St John BC, very nice solid 13 year old draft cross mare, broke to ride English and western, moves off the leg, ties well, easy for the farrier, goes out alone or with others on trails, goes through water well, easy to load and trailer, very little spook and no funny business.
She’s super friendly and loves attention, can be ridden in a bridle or bit less (halter, side pull, or bosal). Would go well in any direction, but has experience trail riding, arena riding, and starter level eventing. Very reasonable in nature and would make a great husband horse.
The reason I’m selling her is that I have too many horses and she’s not getting used. The only trouble I’ve had with her is that she’s developed a problem with her ears being touched, the vet and chiropractor have both checked and can’t find anything physically wrong with her ears or head so I’m sure this will be able to be resolved with consistent handling and the right person. My intention is to continue working on desensitizing that area until she’s sold but I have a back injury that limits how much i can do.
