Professional tile and grout restoration with ColorClad grout sealant.
Are you sick of looking at that grody old grout and debating whether to just cut it out and regrout or even replace the tiled floor? Don't do it! In most cases that grout can be restored and the end result is better than new grout! How so?
Most types of grout are absorptive. That means that liquids can penetrate the grout. When they do the grout can be stained even beneath the surface. New grout needs to be properly sealed and grout needs periodic cleaning and resealing to keep the grout blocking water. If you didn't know that, you're far from alone. It seems few people do and many do not know if their grout was ever sealed after installation.
So you cleaned it in the past and it came out quite good. Now though, it seems that each time you clean it, it comes out less and less improved. That is likely because stains have set into the grout. There is a solution!
ColorClad is not only a sealant, it is a colorant. We can mix to match original color or adjust to a different color of your choice. With proper surface preparation it bonds to the grout surface giving the grout a water proof barrier with a new look uniform appearance. How is that better than new? ColorClad embeds in the rough textured grout surface giving it a smoother finish. This makes it easier to keep the grout looking clean without the need for harmful strong chemical cleaners. It is also oil resistant and inhibits mould and bacterial growth. It is color stable and will not yellow or discolor with time.
How long does it last? That does depend on how much wear and tear the floor is seeing. Although it is very durable and flexible it is possible to scrape beneath the surface or thin the sealant with a strong acid a chemical solvent or a strong alkaline. However in most cases ColorClad will last for many years without the need for touchups. In time if a re-application is needed the process is much simpler. A quick clean will get the surface ready and a single application will bring it right back to new.
I also do caulking and regrouting as needed for a complete restoration.
