_________________1. Making Students Feel Comfortable to Continuously Ask Questions:
Economics is a subject where two economists won the Nobel Prize in the same year for opposite perspectives (1974!). The fundamental mantra for economists is to question everything. Nuheen not only encourages his students to freely inquire about the topics being taught but also empowers them to challenge any concept he presents. His lessons are conversational in nature, rather than following an ineffective lecture format.
2. Helping Students Score 7s in IB Commentaries, and Getting High Predicted Grades:
IB commentaries are worth 20% to 30% of the final IB grade for Economics, for the HL and SL program respectively. The performance of students in commentaries is in some ways even more important, particularly when you consider that many teachers disproportionately use the commentary grades to provide predicted grades for university applications. Nuheen has guided many students to 7s in IB Economics essays, helping them head into the final exams with nearly full marks in 20-30% portion of the final IB grade, making it easier to score a 7 overall.
3. Providing Relevant Practice Questions (Paper 1, 2 and 3) as Students Learn a Particular Topic:
- IB® Economics students often struggle to locate topic-specific questions for Paper 1, 2, and 3, leading to inadequate preparation for exams due to unfamiliarity with question patterns. Some schools still use outdated question formats, such as a recent encounter where Nuheen found a teacher assigning multiple-choice questions (MCQs) for IB Economics class tests. It's worth noting that MCQs were last employed in IB Economics exams almost two decades ago in 2004!
- Some IB Economics teachers frequently use questions directly from recent past papers. This makes it even more important that students are familiar with past paper questions, if they aim to improve both their school grades and predicted IB grades.
- Students with access to past papers encounter another challenge. The mark schemes accompanying these papers provide concise and teacher-oriented correct answers. Consequently, students often find themselves uncertain about how to properly structure and articulate a 10 or 15-mark question, even with access to the answer key.
- Aside from picking out sample, topic-relevant questions for practice, Nuheen helps his students understand how to write answers to past paper questions using the proper IB rubric, guiding them towards better school grades and predicted IB grades._____________________________________________
AP® Microeconomics / AP® Macroeconomics Students
_____________________________________________1. Providing Relevant MCQs and FRQs For Practice as Students Learn a Particular Topic
Aside from a limited number of AP Classroom questions, AP® Micro and Macro students have a hard time finding topic specific MCQs and FRQs. Questions from official past papers require knowledge of the entire syllabus, which is not helpful when learning the syllabus gradually and trying to find practice problems specific to a single topic. Aside from picking out the right MCQs and FRQs for his students to practice, Nuheen also develops his own topic based questions that his students can use.
2. More than 10 Years+ of AP® Past Paper Practice
Economics is a subject that can only be learned through repeated practice, and nothing is better to achieve that than attempting official AP® past papers with its MCQs and FRQs. Nuheen's goal is ensuring that his students understand how to solve at least 10 years of past papers before heading into the exam hall.
3. Building the Habit of Drawing Graphs to Answer MCQs
Not many students understand that without drawing rough sketches of graphs, it is nearly impossible to answer a decent portion of MCQs correctly and quickly in the AP Economics exams. Nuheen builds the habit of drawing graphs among his students both as a memory tool and also as a way of helping students understand the models at a deeper level.

Let's face it, most university professors tend to be terrible teachers. Universities (with the exception of teaching focused ones) hire professors for their research ability, with the professors burdened with teaching duties to cover their salary.
While there are many exceptions, many students have sought Nuheen's help with introductory microeconomics and macroeconomics after being unable to learn much in class, and found that economics is not really that difficult!
2. Exam Preparation and Assignment Help
Professors often provide past papers for exam practice, but little time is spent on showing students how exactly to solve them. In some cases, the answer key is missing as well!
Nuheen helps these lost and oftentimes panicking university students figure out how to tackle the practice past papers and assignments, preparing them better for the exams than they could by themselves.
3. Professionalism and Adequate Preparation
It is difficult to find quality tutors for university economics, and the reason is simple. The introductory economics courses vary significantly from professor to professor, let alone across universities. Without incredible depth and breadth in knowledge of the concepts taught, it is challenging to teach university students.
