Expectations.
- enjoy the star filled nights around the camp fire upon return from your afternoon/evening hunt. You will eat like kings & queens and retire to wall tent complete with wood burning stove and a comfy cot. Make it your for your stay by bringing your own sleeping bag and pillow.
Expect a pretty healthy sleep in as the nights tend to be late ones. It’s not uncommon to still be hunting at 10pm this time of year in the most northern parts of Alberta.
The mornings are filled with the sounds of loons from the lake and the smell of sizzling bacon on the grill. Nothing quite like a hearty breakfast to start a stellar day ahead.
There’s a full on private hot shower waiting for you at the turn of the pump. Spend the rest of your mornings relaxing with a hot cup of coffee as you sit and stair out across the scenic rainbow lake. Perhaps your inclined to wet a line and try your luck? This time is all about you so enjoy.
Around 2pm expect a early dinner before making your way deep into this region’s wilderness areas to our bear stands. These bait sights are “seasoned” and draw in the finest black bear specimens you will encounter. It’s not uncommon to have sightings and or shot opportunities on a daily basis....at this point it’s all up to you.
Once you have made your shot, our team will take it from there. It’s all about saftey first, so we ask that you do not leave the comfort of your stand location until our team arrives. At which point we will assess the situation and proceed with the recovery. Many photos of this incredible moment will be taken in order to preserve this special moment, just sit back, smile and soak it all in.
Your bear will come back to camp where our staff will clean and skin the animal in preparation for Taxidermy. Please consider your Taxidermy options prior to your trip, often different cuts are used between rug mounts, shoulder mount, full or half body mounts, it’s good to do a little research ahead of time.
Expect a full day in camp after your harvest (possibly an additional over night stay) to allow plenty of time for all this to happen.
At this point, thanks to a very healthy population of black bears you will now have a decision to make, do you hit the road or load back up and hit the woods. We are pleased to offer one additional black bear tag/hunt at this point (see fees) that will get you right back in the saddle for round two:)
