How did it come to this?

One dozen yellow roses tossed rather haphazardly onto the side of the 102 highway around the Joseph Howe on ramp. How did this happen? So close to Valentine's Day. Such a sad site to come across. I wasn't ready for this. There must be an explanation. I couldn't help but wonder what happened. I had visions of a very sad breakup or of someone's hopes and dreams that were crushed just moments before at the rejection of that person they thought might be the one. . Were there any witnesses? Oh the heartache... if only they could tell their full story.
