Duck King is a Chinese cuisine restaurant located in Halifax, NS. With a tremendous passion for culinary arts, we are committed to offering different types of infused authentic Chinese cuisines, especially our signature dish of Peking Roast Duck, with attentive service in a warm and elegant atmosphere. Guests are greeted with unique décor, transporting them on an intriguing and memorable culinary journey. Due to the development of the restaurant, we need an experienced cook to join us.
Job Responsibilities:
• Prepare and complete various Chinese meals and dishes based on food orders for customers
• Prepare various food materials and ingredients such as raw meat, vegetables, sauces
• Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment
• Design and plan menus and assist with recipe development
• Determine the size of food portions, estimate food requirements and costs
• Oversee kitchen operations
• Supervise and assign jobs to kitchen helpers, train kitchen staff as needed
• Keep kitchen and work area clean
Employment requirements:
• Completion of secondary school
• 5+ years of cooking experience in Chinese culinary
• Have a culinary certificate or equivalent credentials
• Chinese/Mandarin is an asset
Job Details:
Salary:$22-24/hour, 40 hours/week
