Legendary 1988 Toyota Landcruiser FJ62 Mint Condition
Description
I purchased this last year, and this car really hasn’t disappointed in the slightest. I’ve devoted a ton of my energy to keeping the car mint, clean and improving small aspects of the car day to day. Previous owners werent fully knowledgable about certain aspects of the car (type of oil to use, etc), but I have fixed all those issues. I took off the tint as well because it wasn’t original and I believe it greatly improved the look of the vehicle.I haven’t driven it much to be honest, but the car is a absolute beauty and workhorse. A few small adjustments such as 3 chips in the front driver door, small dent / crack near rear passenger door, very minor leak under carriage are the main issues. All are fixable, and have been advised as such by professionals. The land cruiser community is incredible, and particularly in Toronto there are really great characters and ones that will help and teach about all things Landcruiser. Its nearly impossible to find a solid rig in Canada without tons of miles. This one is just that, with a relatively low miles. Im looking for 33000 $ CAD, but willing to negotiate with the right buyer. I’m currently not in the country to show the vehicle but in the next few months will be. I can however arrange a showing if the right buyer has particular interest. No lowballing, I don’t really need to sell this fortunately! Feel free to call me or email me anytime.

I’ve added a fairly brief description in the format of some Bringatrailer.com sales of similar cars at similar milages, where the prices (in USD) are highly competitive and comparable. Thanks a lot . D
This 1988 Toyota Land Cruiser is finished in red over a gray cloth interior, and power comes from a 4.0-liter inline-six paired with a four-speed automatic transmission and a dual-range transfer case. Equipment includes chrome-finished 15″ wheels, locking front hubs, mud flaps, a ice cold blowing air conditioning, and a factory AM/FM cassette stereo. The truck spent time in Delaware, Idaho, and Washington before I purchased it from a person in Windsor last year who imported it fully. Work under current ownership is said to have included installing new belts and hoses, rear suspension rebuild, side view mirrors, brand new BF Goodrich All Terrain Tires, breaks and replacing the ignition components, tires, shocks, sway bar bushings, battery, and alternator. This FJ62 is offered with partial service records and a clean Ontario title in the seller’s name.
The body is finished in red and hints of orange, and features a split tailgate, a rear wiper, mud flaps, and chrome bumpers and trim. Chrome-finished 15″ wheels wear 235/75 BF Goodrich All-terrain tires that were mounted when I purchased the vehicle.
The cabin is upholstered in gray vinyl and striped cloth with matching door panels and darker gray carpets. The seats are near mint, which is very rare to find for land cruisers these days. Very slight cracking is evident on the driver side panel, and a small crack on the dashboard. I’ve bought a dash cap which will solve this. It only needs to be installed and problem fixed! Interior amenities include air conditioning, a factory AM/FM cassette stereo, and branded floor mats. The radio is great, the cassette player doesn't seem to function perfectly, although I haven't played with it much. Since I bought the vehicle I've been using a bluetooth transmitter and it runs perfect. Nothing like Spotify on an 80's SUV.
A two-spoke steering wheel frames instrumentation that includes a 110-mph speedometer, a 5k-rpm tachometer, and gauges measuring oil pressure, coolant temperature, voltage, and fuel level. The six-digit odometer shows 167k miles, approximately 4k of which were added by me ripping around downtown Toronto.
The fuel-injected 4.0-liter 3F-E inline-six was factory-rated at 155 horsepower and 220 lb-ft of torque. The drive belts were reportedly replaced in late 2019 along with alternator and battery, while servicing in 2020 is said to have included replacement of the spark plugs, breaks, tires, side view mirrors (OEM sourced), rear window wiper (OEM sourced), tailgate pressure hinges (sourced), as well as an oil change.
Power is sent to the rear or all four wheels through a four-speed automatic transmission and a dual-range transfer case. I dont use the 4WD component, and honestly wouldn't fully recommend it. The transmission on these old trucks can be tricky and didn't want to play around with it at all. I believe that anyone that is looking for this truck in Toronto most always doesn't need to worry about this.
