OUR MASTER INSTRUCTOR - SHIHAN GORD DAVISShihan Gord Davis has dedicated the last forty-one years to the martial arts. He began his martial arts education in 1971 at the age of ten and received his first degree Black Belt in 1975 from Sensei Monty Guest whose contribution to the martial arts dates back to 1961 as head instructor for the legendary Tsuruoka Sensei, the man credited for introducing karate to Canada.Shihan Davis then studied for several years at Northern Karate School under the guidance of Hanshi Cezar Borkowski and was a senior instructor there until opening Danforth Karate Academy in 1991 where he continues to teach and promote the many benefits of martial arts training to his students. He received his Renshi Dan from the World Kobudo Federation in 1995, his 5th degree Black Belt from the Okinawan Kenshi-Kai Karate-Do Kobu-Do Association in 1997 and promoted to 6th degree Black Belt by Kyoshi Armi Rizzo and the World Congress of Martial Arts Association with Shintani Karate Federation in 2006.Shihan Davis has traveled throughout North America competing and participating in seminars with some of the most renowned martial artists and has acquired vast knowledge and experience which he takes pleasure in sharing with his students.Shihan Davis has also conducted programs at the Jewish Community Centre, North Campus, Variety Village. Shihan Davis is also an accomplished classical pianist.
OUR SENIOR INSTRUCTOR - SENSEI PETER JAUKOVICSensei Peter Jaukovic has dedicated the last twenty-five years to the martial arts. He began his martial arts education in 1987 at the age of six and received his first degree Black Belt in 1995 from Shihan Gord Davis and Northern Karate School.He received his Sensei Dan from Shihan Davis in 1998, and his 4th degree Black Belt in 2008.Under the tutelage of Shihan Davis, Sensei Jaukovic has competed and participated in seminars and tournaments and gained a vast knowledge of karate and other forms of martial arts.He dedicates his time to helping other students achieve their goals with patience and commitment.
INSTRUCTOR NICOLE JAUKOVIC Nicole has dedicated the last twenty years to the martial arts. She began her martial arts education at the age of four in 1992 and earned her first degree black belt in 2002 from Shihan Gord Davis. She received her second degree black belt in 1998 and her third degree black belt in 2008. Nicole has competed and participated in seminars and tournaments. She is committed to the students and dedicates her time to helping them 'Achieve Personal Best' Nicole is a graduate of the Food & Nutrition Program at Centennial College and a graduate of the Medical Administration Program at George Brown College.
