Adults with Depression and/or BPD for a Psychology Study
Description
We are looking for adults with depression and/or borderline personality disorder for a research study on thinking abilities and decision making. If you are eligible for the study, you will be paid $15/hour for approximately 7-9 hours of participation. You will be asked to complete psychological interviews, questionnaires, tests of thinking abilities (e.g., decision making), and magnetic resonance imaging (“MRI”) of your brain.
Participation will take place over the course of multiple sessions. The initial session(s) will take place remotely (e.g., using a computer and the internet). One session (brain scan) will take place in-person at the University of Toronto; COVID-19 safety measures will be in place. To qualify, you must be proficient in English, between the ages of 18-65, and currently experiencing symptoms of depression (e.g., low mood, loss of interest/pleasure in your usual activities). Individuals currently experiencing difficulties with their use of alcohol or drugs may not qualify.
Additionally, individuals with the following do not qualify for the study: schizophrenia or schizoaffective disorder (and no active symptoms of psychosis); neurodevelopmental or neurological illness (e.g., seizure disorder); serious medical illness; or bipolar I or II disorder.
