Marine Mechanic
Description
We are currently looking for the following position:
TITLE: MARINE TECHNICIAN
The candidate must be willing to relocate to Sioux Narrows, Ontario (housing and meals provided), must have a previous experience as a Marine Technician elsewhere.
The candidate must have a very good understanding of outboard motors, boats, and general marine maintenance. WHMIS certification an asset. This position runs from May October and can be a permanent year-round position as well.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties of the Outboard Engine Marine Technician include but are not limited to the following:
Plan and organize daily requirements for maintenance and repairs
Servicing fleet of X90 Triumph boats & X150 Evinrude e-tec outboard motors to insure they are in working order
We are now a Honda Marine Dealer, and will be switching to Honda branded outboards
Servicing small fleet of Stanley Boats with twin 250hp Evinrude outboard set ups
Ensure all tools and equipment are in good working condition, organized and secured
Maintain accurate log of repairs completed, and provide status updates to the Management
Work on assigned projects in a timely manner
Plan & organize jobs for your crew of 1-2 other techs working under you
Operating boats and motors on the open water
Operates vehicles and equipment in accordance with all safety regulations
Ordering parts online from Evinrude & Honda
Rebuilding powerheads & installation
Rebuilding lower units & installation
Qualifications:
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Self-motivated
- Marine certifications are a plus but not necessary
- Knowledge of re-building lower units
- Knowledge in diagnosing outboard engine issues with computer software
- Installing new parts on outboards
- Ordering parts from suppliers at the lowest cost available
- Highly organized, capable in time management, strong communication skills, able to prioritize jobs efficiently
- Ability to lift & carry 50 lbs, able to stand/walk for 8 hours
- Experience in the safe and proper use of a variety of power & air tools
- Willing to help after hours for emergencies (banked time offered)
- Enjoys a challenge
- Reliable and punctual
- Great attention to detail
- Maintains a professional appearance at all times
