Project Pony
Description
Tater is 10 hands/just over and will be 8 this spring.
I bought him a year ago to be a lead line pony for my toddler and grow into his saddle pony, but he’s a little much for the beginning stages. He was being ridden w/t/l consistently by a 9 year old when I got him, and he’s got nothing mean that I’ve been able to see; just a forward guy.
He would benefit from some miles, but has a great handle on him in the bridle. I’ve ground driven him around some, and hopped on him for the first time in 7 months last fall and he was a star. He’s pulled a little sled off his saddle as well. He’d make a super youth project; I think he’ll come leaps and bounds once back in consistent work.
Exposed to cattle; never founder and is on free hay with my big horses and isn’t too fat right now. He’s a little tough to catch when you first get him, but comes around pretty quick after he gets to know you and you pack treats
He’s a really personable guy and has been sweet with my kid, he’s just got more to him than we’ll be ready for for a while yet and I hate to see him bored. Asking $1400; located an hour west of Grande Prairie.
