As we continue to grow we are looking to add a permanent full time Lead Purchaser to the Scandi Family! This role will be a full time office position based out of our Edmonton Head Office. What your day to day will look like: You will be reporting into the Director of National Procurement and the Executive Vice President of Procurement. This position will also directly oversee 2 team members; our Purchasing Assistant and Purchasing Coordinator. Department Management and Leadership; Evaluate processes and recommend implementing improvements, provide day to day oversight to the team coordinating projects, providing status reports, managing performance and personnel issues, and handling any escalations or concerns for the purchasing department. Purchasing; Proactively keep up to date and communicate any supply chain issues and assist in making alternative arrangements. Create and track purchase orders while ensuring flow of inventory for cost effective utilization of stock. Verify invoices and resolve discrepancies. Maintain accurate and current data entry into all trackers and systems. Delivery Coordination; Monitor and coordinate deliveries of items from suppliers to ensure that all items are delivered to site/ stores on time. Assist in preparing in house stock orders for the purpose of meeting delivery requirements. What you'll need to succeed:4-5 years of progressive experience in a procurement and/or inventory management role. Post secondary education or experience in purchasing/ supply chain is preferred.Strong computer skills involving company software and various other computer programs like Microsoft Office (Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Microsoft word).Possess exceptional flexibility, adaptability, and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks in a professional and efficient manner.Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to form effective working relationships at all levels of the organization, as well as third party vendors.
