Pioneer Elite - Andrew Jones Designed - Atmos Bookshelf Speaker
Description
Pioneer Elite SP-EBS73-LR - Probably one of the very best sounding bookshelf speakers I have ever had the pleasure to have and experiment with. Designed by Andrew Jones, a world-renowned loudspeaker designer who served as the Chief Speaker Engineer for Pioneer and its high-end division. His designs focused on using custom drivers, sophisticated crossovers, and curved cabinet designs (for reduced standing audio waves) even in budget minded products. If you ever come across a pair of anything with Andrew Jones name on them you should at least take the time to hear what they are all about. I have been using these as two channel with the Atmos drivers connected to the forward facing set of drivers and the result has been amazingly room filling. Non original tweeters aside the mids and lows that come from these speakers show just what you can do with an excellent combination of cabinet design, quality drivers, crossovers and well tuned and correctly placed port. These speakers came to me in need of repairs as the owner used an underpowered ATMOS reciever and burned out all the tweeters. Warranty does not cover abuse, any technician can tell the difference between component failure and abuse when the drivers are taken apart. Pioneer does not have or offer replacement components for their Andrew Jones custom designed line of speakers which is a short coming on their part I feel. Pioneer USA response to me was there was no availability of parts for sale either as complete 2way midrange or separated pieces. I could not find replacements anywhere in continental USA or Canada from any new or used online market. I purchased several different sets of tweeters with my use in mind to experiment with what I could get these speakers to do with different combinations and eventually rewarded with what i think is a nice smooth setup that i could run all drivers taking advantage of the upfiring as fill-in. These are a 4ohm rated speaker and I have been using them with the ATMOS top pair connected to the bottom pair. The terminals wired in series is a 10ohm load, The terminals wired in parallel 2.5ohm load (which most will tell you cannot be done). Anything can be done if you use your head and don't ask more of the amplifier than it is capable of providing. I have been using a few amplifers that state 4ohm minimum loading at modest volume levels with no appreciable heat or shut down troubles. Of course if you over drive an amplifier troubles are generally soon to follow. I have been using these beauties daily at medium volume in my shop while i am working to see if i overheat, trip breakers or fuses with a 4ohm minimum, ' Made in Japan' amplifier. Why, do you ask yourself would I wire these for such a low load to the amplifier? The simple answer I will give you is when you listen to them wired parallel to 2.5ohm they sound quite a bit fuller than when wired in series at 10ohm. I am fairly certain that as long as anyone doesnt ask more of their amplifier than it is capable of doing it should perform flawlessly. So far the results with mine for themselves. I have made sets of banana jumpers so you can wire them as you want. These were over $1000 new and worth every penny. Read some reviews and see what the experts also have to say.
* I have been servicing other peoples speakers and equipment for over 25yrs, I inspect and test all my own equipment and drivers before listing them, If they need service work I try to ensure everything is working the way it is supposed to before it is sold to anyone.
* * It can be packed safely for shipping to just about anywhere as I have shipped gear as far away as BC in Canada and down as far as Florida and across as far as Ohio in the states.

* If I replace surrounds, I warranty them for 36months - where else can you get warranty on repairs?
* If the crossovers need new Capacitors, I replace them.

There are too many 'Kijijites' out there who make offers and claim they are coming 'Right Out' ,then climb back into the woodwork and disappear. Put your money where your mouth is. If you are serious about something and want me to hold it for you for a week or less then send me a deposit. If it is not like I claim it to be when you come to see it then I will refund your deposit.

There is no warranty that comes with my gear no matter the condition unless I state it clearly in the ad. That being said if a piece of gear develops some troubles, give me a call and let me see if I can help you out. I like to think that I am a reasonable person within reason.
* (5).- There is no cure for misuse and abuse or just plainly being a 'Dumbass'. If you are unsure about how something wires up or works Ask Questions!! There is nothing more frustrating that talking with someone who was too proud to ask fo
