Job Opening: Show Barn Groom / Stable Hand
We’re looking for a reliable, hardworking individual to join our busy show horse training barn in Chilliwack. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who is comfortable working around a variety of horses from young prospects to seasoned show horses, as well as some senior horses requiring attentive, individualized care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Daily feeding and watering
- Turn-out and turn-in
- Exercising and lunging horses
- Tacking up and preparing horses for training and lessons
- General grooming and stable care
- Monitoring horse health, reporting any concerns and administering medications
Schedule:
- Tuesday to Saturday (consistent availability preferred, but exact days may vary)
- Additional flexibility needed to help cover shifts when the team is away at horse shows
What We’re Looking For:
- Self-starting individual with a positive attitude and good work ethic
- Confident horse handling (wrapping legs, changing blankets, saddling, bridling, and lunging)
- Good time management and attention to detail
- Physically fit and comfortable with a fast-paced environment
- Willingness to learn and take direction
- Reliability is essential
About the Barn:
We are an Arabian performance competition stable with a diverse group of horses. The environment is busy and team-oriented, with a strong emphasis on quality care, horsemanship and a regular lesson schedule for clients.
