Bonjour, je suis Nanouk du Nord. Oh, oops, I am in Ontario now so let me translate that. Hello, I am Nanouk (of the North). I am super handsome and I am searching for my forever home after having been in foster for 2 weeks so that I can be learned about and can find an appropriate home. I am a good boy, so let me tell you about myself.
I’m a handsome boy that knows my basic obedience commands like sit and down. I am working on my leash walking skills and my house training. My house training will be much better once I find a food that agrees with me. Right now, I am having a bit of trouble with diarrhea - while trying out different foods to find one that agrees with me. I may need a raw diet if I cannot find a kibble that works for me. I am also in need of further crate training.
I am dog friendly when introduced properly, but I do need reminders to play nicely. I am an assertive player, and not all dogs understand this. I will push buttons in order to initiate play, and if the other dog doesn’t want to play, it will escalate into a fight. A meet and greet will be required prior to my adoption to ensure my new fur-sibling and my new human understand my style and to ensure we will be a good match. I am not good with cats. I have not been tested with children, but due to my mouthing tendencies, I will not be adopted to a home with young children.
Now for the catch. You may have seen that I sit a little different. You see, I have luxating patellas. While I do not need surgery currently, I may need surgery later in life, so I am looking for a financially stable home that will be able to afford this orthopedic surgery in the event that it is needed in the future. Please research this condition before committing to me. One leg is worse than the other, but I get around just fine, I just can’t do any sports activities. Walks and yard exercise is sufficient for me. Crate training is crucial though so that if I overdo it, I can take a break. Also, if I do end up needing the surgery, I will need to be very comfortable in the crate for the weeks and months of rehab after surgery. Please get me comfortable in a crate.
I am neutered, dewormed, and up to date on my DHPP and bordatella vaccinations. My adopter will be provided with an already registered microchip to have inserted by their veterinarian upon my adoption as I am not yet microchipped, unless done before adoption.
