4 year old Border Collie mix

Roger is a 4 year old mix-breed male
Border collie x Australian shepherd x ?
DOB Sep 7 2020.

Neutered. Vaccinations up to date. Can get records from the vet. No medical issues or health concerns.

He would thrive in a country home with space outside and time close to people.

Behaviours:
- Used to living with a cat, they peacefully coexist and is used to our extended family members cats and farm animals.
- Excited to meet other dogs, until he was 1 1/2 he went to doggy daycare weekly. used to our family members dogs
- Currently lives with two young children in the house. gets skittish/anxious with their unpredictability. Usually leaves the room, has never been aggressive or caused us any worry in this regard.
- Is happy to be pet here and there, but is not very touchy and will get worked up when people get too hands on for too long (despite us always having brushed him, give him baths etc). needs time to warm up to strangers before he wants them to pet him. That being said, he always wants to be close by to us - laying in whatever room we are in, barking to come in from outside if we are inside. Likes to be where his people are! Usually just outside on his own for bathroom breaks and then wants back in. If we are outside with him he is happy to roam around close by.
- Very smart and learns boundaries quickly, listens well to commands. Ie Will eat food scraps that fall on the floor only once we tell him it’s ok to take it.
- Roger is higher energy, excited at any mention to be outside with us or go anywhere. Looooves playing fetch with his chuck it ball, would play to the point of injury if we didn’t stop. Likes to cool off and play fetch in the water, go for hikes (will wander around off leash but has good recall).

He is such a good boy, we hope he can be with a family who has the time and space that we no longer have. Happy to send his dog bed, toys, water bowls, leash etc with him.
