Mechanic – Journeyman/Woman Heavy Equipment Technician

Position Background:

Thatchwood Ventures is a locally owned and operated trucking company in the Grande Prairie Area.

We are currently looking for a Journeyman/woman heavy duty mechanic to add to our growing team. Candidate must be willing to work some weekends, evenings, and overtime.

We have recently moved to a new state of the art facility east of Grande Prairie along Range Road 53!!

Required:
Red Seal or at minimum Journeyperson on Road Ticket
Class 5 license with own vehicle
Must provide own basic tools and toolbox.
CVIP License an asset but not required.

Wage:
Hiring wage negotiable dependent on experience.

Qualifications, Responsibilities, and Skills:
The individual in this role will have:
Responsible for the repair and maintenance of machinery and equipment.
Perform preventative maintenance, inspection and troubleshooting of equipment.
Service equipment regularly.
Handle both shop and in field work orders.
Complete detailed, clear, and concise work and repair orders in a timely manner.
Ability to work overtime hour when on call.
Ability to work alone and in a group setting.
Ensure compliance with all regulations and record keeping concerning all transportation matters such as National Safety Code, legislation, etc.
Experience with technical software (Cummins Insight, JPro, etc.) is preferred.
Experience with Peterbilt and Kenworth trucks, end dumps, walking floors, and hydraulic systems would be an asset.

Licenses & Certifications:
Class 5 license and provide own transportation is mandatory.
Red Seal and or Journeyperson on road ticket is mandatory.
Preference given to candidates with valid H2S and First Aid Certificates.

Schedule:
Flexible Shifts with some evenings, weekends, and Overtime.
