"Giant" canyons are fairly large isopods that do well in a variety of environments. In my experience they thrive when offered a gradient of dry and damp substrate. They make a great clean-up crew in planted animal cages, and smaller/softer isopods are also a calcium rich and unique food option for amphibians and reptiles.
