Research study volunteers needed for stroke rehabilitation tool
Description
What is the study about?
Axem Neurotechnology is developing products that measures and displays brain-activation data during
upper-body movement exercises, particularly to improve stroke survivors' rehabilitation.
The purpose of this study is to build a video recording database of movements and rehabilitation
exercises, from motor unimpaired individuals and motor impaired stroke-survivors. Algorithms generated
from this study will be implemented into Axem products that improve rehabilitation for stroke survivors.
How will you be involved?
You will perform 1 study session of upper-body exercises and video recorded to capture your movements.
The study session will last ~90 minutes long. You will receive a $15 honorarium for your participation. You
may be invited for additional study sessions to complete different types of exercises, with or without other
Axem products.
Where does the study take place?
All sessions will take place in a private meeting room at the offices of Axem Neurotechnology (11 Akerley
Blvd. Dartmouth, NS) or at your home.
Who can participate?
Stroke survivors experiencing challenges moving their arms and/or hands & adults with no history of
stroke.
To be eligible to participate, you must:
• Be over 18 years old
• Must be able to visualize tablet screen
• Read and understand English
