Gracie - young adult terrier mix
Description
Gracie is about 4-5 years old looking for a home of her own.
Gracie is a lovely snuggler and will make someone very very happy. she is great with dogs and kids and in fact does better when dogs are around!
Gracie came to us without the ability to move her hind end. with lots of work and physio, she is doing amazing and going for walks, runs and hikes with her fosters.
"Gracie’s daily routine is waking up, getting cleaned up with a little wash (if needed), and playing with her foster sister before work. Once we get to the office Gracie mostly does what any other dog would do while their family is at work, she sleeps! When the day is nice, I take Gracie out for a play on the grass where she does her little attempted squat and pee, and on days where it isn’t nice, we do a few exercises in the office. These just consist of standing her up with or without her hobbles and correcting the position of her legs, pushing lightly on her backend, holding one of her two front paws up, and positioning her in sitting and laying down positions the way any other dog would do it. This is all just to build strength in the backend and core. Very easy exercises and the most Gracie will do is grunt at you for bugging her.
When work is finally over, Gracie and I get into the car and drive home. Once we get home she perks up and gets excited to see her foster siblings! Now it’s playtime! She plays chase outdoors and rough houses indoors. Gracie also loves to go for walks and can last for over 30 minutes with the hobbles and lift harness on before you might have to carry her. She won’t let you forget to take her because she wants to do anything and everything that her foster siblings are doing.
Gracie is the most loving girl you will ever meet! She snuggles right into me and has even given me some kisses! When she wants you to pet her, she nuzzles your hand onto her head and always looks up at me with the most innocent and loving eyes.
The only downside that I can think of for Gracie is that she can be vocal when she sees the other pups getting amped or when they are barking, she chimes in. Gracie has never been taught anything and to be fair, our pups are also very vocal.
We hope that you will read this and understand that Gracie isn’t just work, she is so much more and has so much to offer to her human(s) and fur friends. She is progressing every week and having her in my life since October, I can say for certain that this little girl will continue to make great progress! She will add so much joy to your life!"
