This WorkSafeBC course provides Occupational First Aid, Level 1 and 2 certificate holders with the required training to move injured workers.
The curriculum includes:
Patient handling and lifting techniques
Use of the spine board and basket stretchers
Spinal immobilization techniques
Patient assessment and treatment during transport
Critical interventions
Transportation method
Upon successful completion, you will receive a Transportation endorsement certificate. This certificate expires with the Occupational First Aid Level 1 or 2 certificates.A transportation endorsement ticket is required in any Class A hazard job that is located more than 20 minutes of surface travel from a hospital when the crew size is two to 10 workers.
Prerequisite: A valid Occupational First Aid Level 1 or 2 certificate. Candidates must be at least 16 years of age. Please bring Occupational First Aid, Level 1 or Level 2 certificate, and photo ID to class.

This course is designed to ensure that new operators receive the required knowledge to effectively participate in the Vehicle Inspection Program and ensure that all vehicles inspected at their facility meet all applicable safety standards for on-highway use. Commercial Vehicle Safety and Enforcement (CVSE) has established a Facility Operator Course. This course is required for those needing to add the airbrake endorsement to their current class of license and is designed to prepare students for the ICBC written examination to operate air brake-equipped highway vehicles. Emphasis is placed on safe operating procedures and ongoing maintenance of air brake systems. Upon successful completion of this course, participants will be provided an airbrake pre-trip authorization identifying satisfactory trainin and assessment which you will take to ICBC when you take your airbrake knowledge test withing 90 days of issue.
Please note: ICBC has the right to review certified records and to retest certified students at their discretion.
Prerequisites: To enter this course, students must have a valid BC driver’s license.

This course will teach students about the principles of backflow prevention and the testing of backflow prevention assemblies. This course will also prepare students to write the Cross Connection Control certification exam with the BCWWA. Students who want to attempt the BCWWA certification examination (exam is on the last day of this course) will need to pay a separate examination fee directly to the BCWWA. www.bcwwa.org/

There is a gap in knowledge and experience that prevents many employees from moving to the next step in their careers. This course addresses that gap and provides the knowledge and skills necessary to lead a team effectively and competently. A recent study showed that 58% of managers said they did not receive any management training. Stepping Up to Supervision introduces and explains key concepts and skills that enable a qualified employee to effectively move up to a position as a front-line supervisor. Open to Canadian, US and international students everywhere, this Winter 2024 term course is divided into themes such as History of the Western, Landscape and Setting, Actors, Directors, Indigenous Peoples, and Women. Film review choices include those by director Quentin Tarantino and newly-released Westerns!

This two-day course includes an introduction to fire behaviour, entrapment (S-185), suppression, tools and equipment, fire line safety, water delivery systems, and WHIMS, as well as a practical portion and exam. Students must demonstrate safe working skills, proper care, proper use of equipment, and the ability to physically complete field exercises.

With the growing demand for automation processes, the need for knowledgeable and experienced programmable logic controller professionals is more apparent than ever. PLCs are used in many industries to monitor and control production processes and building systems. This 30-hour course introduces electricians, as well as those who are familiar with conventional motor control theory, to the basic operating principles and various field applications of Programmable Logic Controllers. The course will be based on Allen Bradley systems but will also include a discussion of Siemens systems. PLC software training will include a hands-on project to operate a lumber J-bar sorter. TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas) is a welding process where a tungsten electrode carries an electric arc to the metal while an envelope of inert gas (argon) surrounds and protects it. TIG is used to weld all metals including copper, titanium, brass, aluminum, and yes, even cast iron. TIG can also be used to weld around tricky or curved joints.
