MEDICAL RADIATION TECHNOLOGIST
Core duty: provides high quality diagnostic services – bone densitometry
Qualifications required:
• Graduate of an accredited formal Medical Radiation Technologist program
• CAMRT (Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists) and Provincial Certification
• Experience in Bone Densitometry (preferred)
• Perform high quality imaging and excellent patient care
• Work independently
• Adequate computer skills

Duties:
• Greet incoming patients and visitors
• Check referral for appropriate action and follow up with referring physician
• Check patient histories and clinical indications and consult with doctor to determine appropriate scanning procedure
• Guide patients by kindly talking them through the steps and answering their questions and concerns
• Assist patient onto/off exam table when needed
• Perform high quality bone density and body composition scans in a timely manner while providing excellent patient care
• Monitor patient’s well-being during the scan, take appropriate action when patient discomfort or medical problems are recognized
• Releases patient with proper follow-up instructions
