Join our team! Pladec Day Care Centre, Inc. is seeking Registered Early Childhood Educators to fill
multiple positions. Pladec has two operational locations within Kingston: 671 Innovation Drive and
349 Mack Street. Both locations provide care from 6:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Casual/supply coverage is
your first step in the door to employment with our organization!
The Registered Early Childhood Educator is responsible for providing engaging and supportive
supervision while caring for the children within our programs, in a manner that is consistent with
Pladec’s policies and program statement. Pladec Day Care Centres believes learning begins at birth
and we encourage the children in our care to grow and learn through child-focused curriculum and
play-based activities. We strive to provide a loving and inviting atmosphere for our children, families
and staff. As an educator in the classroom, we look for enthusiastic, energetic, loving, patient,
creative individuals who promote security and self-confidence and are committed to quality care. The
individual must be professional, flexible, and have an aptitude for problem solving. They must be
positive and motivated working as both a team member and independently, possessing positive
communication skills. Individuals are responsible for ensuring that all standards of the Child Care and
Early Years Act, as well as Public Health regulations are being met.
Wages start from $18.50-$19.42 per hour. Pladec’s staff also qualify for additional government wage
subsidies as they become available.
Qualifications & Requirements:
• Available for flexible shift
• Early Childhood Education Diploma
• Registered in Good Standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators
• Up to date First Aid, CPR and Epi-Pen training
• Criminal Reference check
• Up to date immunizations
• Report to Site Supervisor
• Plan and carryout play-based programming
• Active knowledge of the Child Care and Early Years Act, How Does Learning Happen, ELECT,
and additional legislation/regulations relating to the field of Early Learning
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Attend staff meetings
