Opportunity to participate in research
Description
The CPD Lab at Queen’s University is recruiting individuals to take part in a study!
If you are:
- Between 18 and 50 years of age
- Have a diagnosis of schizophrenia OR bipolar I disorder for at least 12 months
then you may be eligible to take part!
The overall purpose of this study is to identify differences in the functioning of the eye in people with schizophrenia and bipolar disorder compared to those who do not have these psychiatric disorders. In particular, we are interested in testing the response of the back of the eye, called the retina, to flashes of light using a test called an electroretinogram (ERG). The goal of this research project is to find differences in ERG tests that can help doctors better diagnose people with schizophrenia and bipolar disorder.
The study involves 4 visits, which includes a psychiatric interview and the electroretinogram tests. As compensation for participating in this study, you will receive $15 per hour. It is estimated that each of the 4 visits will take 2.5-3 hours to complete.
If you're interested in hearing more about this study, or to book an appointment, you can email us at cpdlab@queensu.ca, or call at 613-533-6000 ext. 78478.
