Have a look at this extremely rare 1970 Dodge Challenger Western Sport Special. It is powered by the original numbers matching 340-cubic inch engine and 4-speed transmission. It has 8 3/4 rear end with 3:23 gears and Sure Grip. This Dodge Challenger has been documented by Galen Govier and is the only documented one with these options. The Western Sport Special was limited to only low performance slant 6, 318 or 383 2-BBL engines and was not supposed to have a 340 engine with 4BBL carb as an engine option. This Challenger was built in the Los Angeles plant as were all the WSS cars. It was sold new in Arizona and is rust-free and still retains all its original panels and sheet metal! The car was last plated in Arizona in 1977 and has been in Canada for over 40 years but never plated. This car is in excellent condition inside and out. The chrome, trim, interior, fit and finish are excellent. The only deviation from the original options was many years ago the colour was changed from FY4 Light Gold Metallic to the white it is now and the interior from white and black to the current white and red. The Challenger runs and drives excellent and sounds awesome. See the pictures and video then you should come see this beautiful Challenger in person. Comes with current insurance appraisal. This 1932 Chevrolet Coupe is a rust free, all steel car. It was disassembled and painted in 2019. The car is powered by a 305 Chevrolet small block. The engine runs strong and has edelbrock aluminum heads, an edelbrock performer intake and an edelbrock carburetor. The engine bay looks great and is dressed with lots of chrome. The transmission is a TH350 three speed automatic. The rear end is out of an Oldsmobile and traction bars have been installed on the rear leafs. Underneath, the car has a stainless steel dual exhaust with Xlerator mufflers. Inside, the interior is original style black leather. A B&M shifter is installed and Digital gauges sit in the original dash. Upgraded for comfortable driving, this Chevy features 4 wheel power disc brakes, turn signal kit, LED tail lights, and an electric windshield wiper motor. The chrome on the car is excellent. During the repaint, all the original chrome was removed, straightened, and rechromed at a large cost. This car rides on 15 inch steel wheels with chrome caps and trim rings. The white wall Hankook tires are like new. An excellent opportunity to own a nice driving, all steel 1932 Chevrolet hot rod.

Melanson Motors is proud to offer this amazing 1968 Chevrolet Camaro SS. This incredible Camaro features a performance built 396 big block and Borg Warner T10 manual transmission. Power is sent through the 12 bolt PosiTraction rear end. The car runs strong and starts with no issues.
This car has all the good stuff, such as the super sport hood, front and rear spoilers, bumble bee stripe, SS grille, beautiful stainless trim and new chrome bumpers. This Chevy has cross drilled and slotted power disc brakes on all four corners. It rides on beautiful Boyd Coddington 17 inch F22 billet wheels wrapped in brand new Nitto NT555 performance tires. Underneath, the car is good with absolutely no rust. It is a well detailed undercarriage and new Ridetech shocks and Hotchkis sway bars can be seen. Subframe connectors have been installed. The exhaust is stainless front to back and sounds great!
The body on this Camaro is straight with good gaps. The Black Cherry Purple paint is amazing. The interior is beautiful. All the console gauges are functional and the car has Dolphin gauges in the dash. A billet Ididit tilt steering column has been installed. The white vinyl seats are beautiful and comfortable. This is an excellent driving, beautiful 1968 Chevrolet Camaro. It gets attention everywhere it goes!

A Little History Of Contemporary Classics

• The 1st car was built in March of ‘79
• Your interpretation of the chassis numbering system is correct; taking that further, if the number was 062482-2; it would have been the 2nd frame built on that date.
• In the fall of ’83 when the 3rd generation of body molds went into production, we switched over to the CCX numbering system which has no date tie ins. The CCX-3 Series were the 427 SC cars, the CCX-4 were the Daytona coupes and as best I can recall the 289 FIA cars were either CCX-2 or CCX -5 series cars.
• Contemporary Classics was sold to the Burtis family in Oct. ’96.
• Since all of the company records were destroyed when Burtis went “Belly Up” in 1999, I can’t tell you for certain how many kits were produced, but I’d estimate that the Contemporary’s total production was somewhere between 1,400 and 1,500 kits.
• If you are talking about the inspiration for the numbering system rather than the company, the CSX letters used in the serial numbers of the original cars stood for Carroll Shelby Export, staying with that same concept, CCX stood for Contemporary Classic Export.
• CSX3045 was the basis for our molds.

Contemporary Classic Cobras are considered among the most accurate reproductions produced, with the molds being made directly from an original 427 S/C Cobra, CSX 3045. Contemporary Cobras are made complete with correctly shaped and flared rear fenders, and provisions for a 3½-in. Le Mans fuel filler cap. Inner panels including front fender wells, floor pans, foot box assembly, and trunk liner are double bonded to the body shell in a close tolerance assembly fixture which rendered proper alignment of all inner panels within the one-piece body shell. 

The body, complete with inner panels, is in effect a robust monocoque unit, as opposed to a traditional kit car with its inner panels pop riveted to the body shell. An important Contemporary exclusive is tubular steel substructure hoops with full tubular steel tube frames that have been bonded into the hood, door, and trunk openings, the rear lip of the driver/passenger compartment, and the leading edge of the cowl. The Contemporary 4-in. OD by 1/8-in. round tube chassis is based on the original, but increased wall thickness reduces the flex inherent in the original AC-built chassis. It combines rigidity superior to the cut and weld rectangular tube frames commonly used by replica manufactures, while simultaneously providing lower mass and lighter weight, and of course, is in keeping with the design and specifications of the original car. The round tube chassis is not only more authentic but more rigid and stronger which results in better handling and driving performance.
