Robin in the Hood volunteers
Description
Greetings and Salutations Robin in the Hood family and friends,
The 2023 Robin in the Hood Festival is just weeks away and once again, volunteers are very much needed for the Education Day on Thursday, June 1th, Preview night June 2 and Festival Day, Saturday, June 3th.
Please help our Festival by volunteering. We have many spots that need to be filled.
Education Day (Thursday June 1th -8:30am to 2:30pm) will be split into two – shifts: 8:30am to 11:30am and 11:30am to 2:30pm. We ask volunteers to please show up 15 min early especially for the morning shift. We need as many people as possible to assist with the 1000+ grade four students’ arrival and departure from Gibson Park and to help monitor the students and to ensure that our actors are happy, well watered and fed. If you can stay for the whole day, your time will be very welcomed. We are also in need of tour guides. If anyone is interested, please contact us.
Preview Day (Friday June 2nd 4-8) will be one shift only running the full night
Festival Day (Saturday June 3th -10:00am to 5:00pm) will be split into two - 4-hour shifts: 9:00 am to 1:00 pm and 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Volunteers do not pay admission to the park on Festival Day. Shifts will be allocated based on a first come, first serve basis so reserve your position early. Positions are available for the following volunteer duties on Festival Day:
Gate 1 – North Gate – two volunteers per shift;
Gate 2 – South Gate – two volunteers per shift;
Gate 3 – West Gate – four volunteers per shift;
Gate 4: Information Booth/Playground Gate – three volunteers per shift.
Archery Safety and runners – two volunteers per shift;
Back up/ Runners – minimum of four volunteers per shift;
That means 38 volunteer shifts are needed to be filled for festival day alone. If you are available for more than one shift, please let me know.
We will also find tasks for any volunteers who can help with the dismantling of the park for whatever amount of time you can spare between 5:00pm and 7:00pm.
We will be holding a full cast rehearsal and volunteer information session on Sunday, May 28nd. All return volunteers are welcome, all new volunteers are encouraged to attend.
To reserve your volunteer spot and for information please email me at volunteers@robininthehood.com
Whether or not you are able to volunteer this year, please forward this email or my contact information above to any family members or friends who would like to volunteer some time on Friday and/or Saturday.
Thank you for your continued support of the Robin in the Hood Festival.
I look forward to hearing from you. With you help, Year 23 will be our best yet.
