For sale is a very rare 1975/76 Ibanez (El Degas) Les Paul Special clone, model 2337DX made in Japan.
This guitar has a 1 piece mahogany neck, the body is pancake construction but the top and back slabs are both 1 piece mahogany. Most of the original parts had been swapped before I purchased with many worthwhile upgrades. The previous owner also added a Les Paul special decal to the headstock.
It has had a compensated nut installed and has been fully refretted. The frets are like new. The bridge has been replaced with an original vintage German Badass bridge. It plays flawlessly and is perfectly intonated. The tuners are not original but appear to be period correct Gotoh parts.
It has been fully rewired with premium USA CTS and switchcraft components, orange drop caps. The pickups have been replaced with handwound Vineham old dog P90s which sound phenomenal. The original Japanese pickups are included.
A wonderful example of an early MIJ lawsuit era guitar that needs nothing.
