Currently looking for an experienced Female Personal Support Worker.
THE ROLE
As a Personal Support Worker you will be providing personal care to a private individual.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Takes individual on outings to the mall and, grocery store by public transit or taxi
Provides personal care (bathing, toileting, etc.) to promote the comfort and safety, as well as provide physical assistance as required.
Assists with ambulation and nutritional needs (including feeding assistance)
Encourages participation in the community assisting them to and from activities.
Provides emotional/social support for the individual. Someone who likes to talk, be social and likes to listen
Assists in the maintenance and proper care of transfer equipment and power wheelchair, operating in a way not to endanger anyone.
Documents individuals activities for the day
Performs duties with Health & Safety in mind
Other duties as assigned.
SKILLS
Successfully completed a Personal Support Worker program that meets requirements set by the Ministry of Colleges and Universities for an Ontario postsecondary institution or district school board (Sec. 52 in O. Reg. 246/22). Will also consider those currently enrolled in a PSW program.
High School diploma or equivalent.
Experience in Long-Term Care is considered an asset.
Food Handler certification, First Aid certification.
Must possess strong written and oral communication skills.
Demonstrated organizational and time management skills.
Strong interpersonal and customer-focused skills.
Must have demonstrated sound skills and knowledge of providing personal care duties.
Ability to perform tasks that are necessary for the position, e.g., lifting/transferring clients.
Hours flexible, Monday - Thursday, 9am - 3pm for 6 hours week.
** Will require Vulnerable Sector check dated within the last 6 months **'
Pay $25 - $28 / hour
