Thoroughbred Mare
Description
Causually listing as I know it's not top horse buying season but I feel someone is out there for my girl.
With a heavy heart and with a lot of thought I have decided to rehome my coming 15 yr old OTTB mare Stella. Jockey club name Inertia Girl.
Dark bay and 15.2hh
She will be the perfect horse for someone but I have come to the conclusion she is not the perfect horse for me as much as I have wanted her to be. It honestly crushes me. I am not consistent enough or have enough confidence/experience,time for this type of horse.
Stella would do best with an owner that has experience with off track thoroughbreds and would have her in a consistent program with a trainer.
She needs a confident and experienced rider that enjoys a forward, athletic horse.
Stella goes w/t/c but will need a total refresher/restart as she has been sitting for 6 months and before that has only been trail riding for a year. Pervious to that I was doing some "schooling" riding with her around my farm but she hasn't been in a real training program because I haven't had access to amenities since 2019.
She is very responsive to leg and hand. Has a very soft mouth and frames up nicely.
She has a cute jump and did enjoy jumping and cross country the few times I did it with her but I did not jump her consistently at all.
She has not been to any shows.
She will trail ride but prefers not to go alone and can be spicy and prance and get worked up some days on the trail. I know there is someone out there who would love that about her and not get worked up about it like I do.
She has beautiful conformation and can be a chunky girl when fed grain and hay 24/7. She has worn shoes with me and does well with them but I have also had her barefoot for a bit now. She can live out full time with a blanket or is good in a stall. Great for vet/farrier/chiropractor etc. She is a loving and playful mare not "mareish" at all. Very sweet girl. Middle of the herd.
She does get on a trailer well but can be nervous to trailer but I'm sure would be fine if someone were to do it consistently and confidently.
No vices like weaving, cribbing etc.
Would do best living in a small or large herd because she will get separation anxiety if living with just one other horse.
I have ridden her english, western and bareback.
UTD on teeth, vaccines, feet.
I have a million pictures and videos from over the years of owning her so let me know what you'd like to see.
Located outside of Holstein Ontario to meet her.
Will be very picky and would like her to go to the perfect home that I know will suit what she needs.
Please note the jumping pictures are 5 years old and she hasn't jumped in a long time.
Asking low 4s.
