Neocaridina aquarium shrimp (mixed colors)
Description
Clean your tank with these guys! They eat literally everything. My algae problems disappeared after I put some shrimp into my tank. They also have reduced how often I have to clean my tank with the pump. There is much less debris because they clean it all up. They are fun to watch dancing around the tank.
Recommendations are 3 to 4 per gallon maximum. I like to feed them blanched spinach and zucchini once in a while. They mainly eat left over fish flakes or pellets.
Please note that many are not fully grown yet and you will get mixed amounts of babies and adults of varying colours since they have bred amongst different specicies. I cannot guarantee what sex you'll get as they are difficult to determine let alone catch. I'll typically provide you with 10 to 20% more than you ask because they are difficult to count and varying in stages of growth.
Also they are not cherry red. They are a mixture of ghost shrimp and cherry shrimp so the colors range from a light red to clear.
These are juvenile (1 to 2 cm) and not full grown. The survival rate is greatly enhanced for juvenile shrimps. Adult shrimp go for $5 to $7 at a Pet Supply store.
