Respite Provider
Focus:
Respite care is temporary relief to those who are caring for a person with disabilities in their home. Providing care is rewarding but also can be overwhelming without some support, such as respite. Respite provides the needed break from the daily challenges.
Exceptionally sensitive and resourceful Respite Worker with an unfailingly positive attitude.
Flexible scheduling availability to include weekends evenings and special events as necessary.
Wide breadth of experience in working with individuals with disabilities.
Exceptional knowledge of child development and disabilities.
Outstanding familiarity with personal care and household management principles and practices.
Knowledge & Skills:
I have 15 years of experience assisting persons with disabilities. I have a College degree in Educational Support and Child and youth.

Primary duties:
I will assist with self-help skills (Feeding, toileting, dressing)
Provide care and supervision that the parent,guardian or Host Home would normally provide.
Ensure the safety and well-being of the person.
Maintain the usual routine of the person. Such as following medication support plans.
Honor all aspects of the person’s human rights and adhere to all policies of confidentiality.
Engaging clients in their preferred activities, (reading books, playing with toys, playing outside, arts and crafts)
Managing challenging behaviors (non-compliance, tantrums)
