RARE 17- 18 CENTURY BELGIUM TAPESTRY VESTMENT
Description
Unknown artist but the frame indicates this Vestment Tapestry is Made in Belgium. This picture is from a town called "Anno" and depicts life in 1302. A now famous area near Deinze and Flanders Fields. Meticuously Hand stitched this is known to be a very old Tapestry and has been in my family for over one hundred years! From family tales and what we have found out it could be from the 18th century according to sources in such art works which seemed to recognize it. We are hestitant to take it apart to find out more. The Tapestry is dry mounted without glue on a firm back board. It measures 46 inches by 23 inches. The pictures really dont show the irridencent colors used in the stiching styles and really must be seen to be appreciated. IF YOU ARE SEEING THIS AD THE ITEM IS STILL AVAILABLE!
